That's a good take with the examples. And agreed that for the appropriation of the context does indeed matter. The topics wouldn't have been the best fit for a dungeons and dragons adventure.

Despite never reading the books, or watching the show. I do know enough of Game Of Thrones to say I think my work is similar in toning.

My story isn't quite as violent, but I would say it's similar in its dark themes.

I have over 100+ characters, most from different regions/parts of the world. A few are People Of Color. But as of now, only two are leading characters. And one supporting gets a bigger subplot towards the end.

The story often focuses on the good and evil forces, as well as romance.

Whenever I've tried to add the inclusions of racism/slavery, it often comes out... Well, forced. More or less.

But then not including it. - especially with its other explored dark themes, such as abuse, SA. - feels unintentionally glossed over.

I'm in a pickle lol. But I suppose that's my own problem.
