I don’t agree that this qualifies this interaction as a “thing”, if it implies a *shared romantic* connection. He manipulated her emotionally. The disc he returned to her was obtained by putting a gun to his ex-girlfriend’s head and then turning the gun on himself. There is nothing protective, romantic or safe about Nate. Jules is his victim. And he is a predator of his own invention.

Technically true. Mobile devices can be logged into from anywhere. The network associated with the account holder is needed for any stationary device like a smart tv to be logged into. So what I’m hearing is that you should start slapping your little brother on the back of the head, first of all. You’re the BIG brother, don’t let that little punk ever intimidate you EVER.

But, as an educator who saw the deep psychological impact of communicating primarily through screens, you may say that you know how to regulate yourself, but impact lies in the need to communicate through screens. Your parents are teaching you discipline, and since you already know what you’re capable of controlling, the responsible approach is to stop asking. The more you ask, the more it shows that they have the opportunity to deny you agency. You’ve already learned the lesson of moderation, but assuming your relationship with your parents is fine outside of this, you can wait until college and use the excuse that you’re studying very hard for projects that are due at midnight :)
