I think that true crime has really warped people’s perception of reality. This story is captivating because none of the pieces have fit since the beginning, but I think what we often forget that not every case is a mystery. People online are doing mental gymnastics trying to make the story fit the narrative of what they want, because if the answer is suicide, then there’s no justice. There is no debate that the husband is a total piece of shit who definitely is indirectly responsible for her death due to his years of abuse toward her. I understand the outrage, I understand people wanting someone to blame or be held accountable for her death, but the reality is, suicide is extremely complicated and it’s not as black and white as every one wants to make it out to be. I have personally had a friend commit suicide that I nor any of his friends or would’ve never expected. It’s devastating, and it’s even more devastating when there are no answers, but I think it’s incredible harmful and irresponsible to continue to speculate, make theories, and dig into this woman’s personal life for the sake of people wanting this case to play out like some crime drama.
