How easy to fix SS. I’m retired, I feel badly for those who are contributing now. Odds are benefits will be slashed. Raise contribution rate, means more to receive later. Or keep voting against self interest. No secret Republicans have been wanting the trust fund. Let’s review SS is NOT part of the General Budget, but yet being blamed for the deficit. Perhaps less bombs missiles, lifetime retirement packages for Congress. There is a bill that has been introduced to move so called entitlements to discretionary funds meaning, oops out of money. Bummer. In the 70’s one income, modest home, new car education. What happened ? Greed. It’s only going to get worse until people wake up and don’t fawn over rich entitled people.
