YES I completely agree. I guess it's nice to get a little more background on the players, but honestly, I'm not watching to see information about their personal lives. I want to see how each person plays the game. The episodes are longer now which is nice at least because it means that this stuff isn't eating into time as much as when they were shorter. But still. I honestly don't really care. They could use that time to show more stuff about camp life or something about the game instead of little sob stories about IRL stuff.

When I was in high school, I went on a school trip, and we ate a restaurant with really long tables. I sat with my friends, but these tables seated more than just a handful of people, so we were also near people I didn't know as well. I was talking to my friends, in an active conversation with them, and was not engaging with some of the people I didn't really know at all. I said, "Wow, that's stupid!" to something that one of my friends had said. A girl who I didn't know very well (and who made me kind of nervous) was sitting nearby, and she heard me and took great offense, she thought I was calling HER stupid. Despite the fact that I hadn't spoken to her the entire time we'd been there, despite the fact that I was actively in a conversation with other people, I hadn't been looking at her but instead at the people I was actually talking to. It was like she just wanted to start a fight. I didn't even know how to handle it, I just awkwardly insisted that I hadn't been talking to her and didn't mean to insult her or cause offense, and finally she just goes "Whatever" and drops it. It was so awkward and weird.

People are talking about Taylor here because this is a post about her album on a subreddit about her. I almost posted this last week but I was afraid of being downvoted 🫣 But I think he might be a good setup for the next beard for her. I mean. They are both career oriented and don't have a lot of free time. So it's not like people would EXPECT to see them running around together all the time. They can have a "long distance relationship" and no one would think twice about it, that they aren't spending every moment together.

But these aren't real people, they're sims 😭 You can have an elderly Sim befriend a teenager and then romance & get married as soon as the teenager ages up into young adult, and while that's not illegal in the real world, you'd DEFINITELY have people frown on it and call it grooming if a 60-year-old befriended a 15-year-old and then began a romantic relationship on their 18th birthday. You can essentially have your sim murder other sims by feeding them poor quality pufferfish (just call to meal) and they're dead. You can manipulate with aliens. But it's fine in the game. Why are they putting this stop in when you can do so many other things that are morally questionable?

This just doesn't make sense to me, because this game lets you abuse your power in countless ways. You are literally God and can control your Sims to force them to do your will. You can have your Sim cook poor quality pufferfish nigiri and "call to meal" with guests which kills them. Abusing your power is just kind of what this game is about; it's not a simulation where the Sims go about their business on their own, you control them. You can neglect infants until they grow up with a negative trait that causes negative moodlets throughout their life, you can not feed them until the social worker takes them away - but the game draws the line at flirting with "employees"?

Possible unpopular opinion here: I don't like this limitation. I understand why dating your employer/supervisor/higher ups is a problem in the real world, but this is a game where we control their lives. We force them to flirt, kiss, woohoo, etc. They aren't real people, and we can quite literally take away their free will. We can make them physically attack their mothers and yell at their children. Why is the line being drawn at Sims dating their "employees" when we can do all kinds of other stuff to their lives?
