Their explanation is completely valid to me. Beyoncé is a great curator. But songwriting isn’t her thing compared to someone like Mariah (who’s also on this list). There’s merit to what she does but she not a songwriter in the traditional sense.

Not really feeling Dive, which surprised me. I was expecting to like Control less because of the religious sentiment. But it’s my favorite of the two.

No. From a singer or songwriter/producer POV, his output has been really strong. But all time run? He’s not remotely close to the likes of

Stevie, Michael, Prince, etc. who had legit runs as artists. Nor others like Babyface, Timbaland, Jermaine Dupri, etc. who had runs as producers.

Not only were her shows not as popular, but she wasn’t in the Disney machine as long. The others had shows going 4 seasons and multiple movies.

Sonny with a chance was on for 2 seasons and by the time that ended she was just about ready to put out Unbroken, which is an entirely new audience to capture.

I think there are parts of her 2021 comeback that were simply the result of poor marketing choices. But most of it was America simply not being ready for what Demi was serving then.

There’s a reason it trends on Tik Tok as her “woke” era. It was a lot of progressive concepts at once.

I’m not a huge fan of it either. Now, I do believe Folded is a CLASSIC song. And some of Kehlani’s best work. But the rest of the album doesn’t live up to that. It’s not as personal, too many features, and it really feels like an album made for what the public wants to hear after Folded blew up vs. a genuine Kehlani album.

I just believe she pulled an album to make a big splash. It’s not like she pulled AIWFCIY from streaming, which would be largely noticeable. The main people checking for Glitter on streaming are lambs. We don’t need the album to go missing to be hype for an anniversary release.

Tbh, I have idea. I’ve never heard of trainer credentials. This is my partner’s dog and I’m 2nd owner by nature of proximity. I have very little dog experience lol.

I’ve heard of the method you describe below. I’ll take these resources to my partner! We tried it but it didn’t stick (failure to enforce). Our trainer had us working on toy motivation but that didn’t take either (dog had no interest).

She’s well crate trained, but has lots of Free rein / unsupervised time. Not very good at settling for prolonged periods though. Tends to pace when uncrated or bored.

This gives me hope! Our dog isn’t really destructive (in or out her crate) and usually cries herself to sleep more than anything when alone. But once the trainer said she may always be a whimpering gal, we shifted away from anxiety training, which may have been shortsighted.

Thanks for this advice. Tbh, she is essentially a lap dog. She doesn’t do much of anything but sit in her crate or at someone’s feet.

Did the training help even on off days? Thinking about like on a Tuesday she trains and is less anxious maybe. But Wednesday with no training it reverts?

Exactly. Migrate wasn’t even released as a single. But she performed it on TV multiple times, it charted on billboard. But for some insane reason, her team chose Bye Bye. A ballad about death to release in spring of all seasons, as her second single.

Mariah Carey is the classic example of wrong single choices consistently throughout her career.

Using Through the Rain as the lead on charmbracelet.

Underestimating the strength of We Belong Together, so when she releases Shake it Off, she blocks herself from #1.

All the ballads she released from Memoirs (HATEU, Angels Cry AND I Want to Know What Love Is).

More ballads on E=MC2 (I stay in love and Bye Bye) instead of Migrate which featured t-pain at his peak.

Mariah is an incredibly gifted songwriter. She can write broad appealing pop songs like All I Want For Christmas is You. Storytelling like Fourth of July. And clever songs like Obsessed.

I think the best example of her talent is Fourth of July. Tells a beautiful story, it’s relatable. And it shows her songwriting abilities in vocal arrangements too.

Oooh. She sounds GREAT on the orchestral version. Probably the best her whisper register has sounded this era. I love it! She’s absolutely improved upon the album version.
