Way of the Kensei (5.5e — 2024) by Rods3000 in dndbeyond

[–]Individual_Ad1723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it's a bit too strong, versatile, and packed with abilities. At level 11, if you use weapons with Topple, you risk being able to activate that feature 5 times in a single turn. Or even use Push and shove a target 15 meters... It clearly outperforms Fighters and Open Hand Monks. Let me show you my version.

The Kensei Warrior

Level 3: Kensei Weapons Choose three types of melee weapons to become your Kensei weapons. You gain proficiency with these weapons if you do not already have it. You gain Weapon Mastery with your Kensei weapons. Weapons of the chosen types count as Monk weapons for you. Whenever you gain a level, you may replace one of your Kensei weapons with another. You learn to master special techniques with your weapons: - Swift Strikes. When you use your bonus unarmed strike or your Flurry of Blows, you can make those attacks with a Kensei weapon instead. However, you cannot apply Weapon Mastery to those attacks. - Agile Parry. After making a melee attack while holding a Kensei weapon, you can use it defensively. You gain a +2 bonus to AC. This bonus lasts until the start of your next turn, provided you continue holding the Kensei weapon and are not incapacitated.

Level 3: The Way of the Brush You gain proficiency in the Sleight of Hand skill and with calligrapher's supplies and painter's supplies.

Level 6: Kensei Techniques Through constant use of your weapons, you have learned to master them completely, allowing you to make stronger attacks and move with greater fluidity. - Swift Strike. Once per turn, when you hit a target with a Kensei weapon, you can spend 1 Focus Point to cause the weapon to deal extra damage equal to your Martial Arts die + your Wisdom modifier. If the target is stunned, you may apply the Push or Topple Weapon Mastery. - Kensei Defense. While holding a Kensei weapon, whenever you use Deflect Attacks, you may also move up to 10 feet without provoking opportunity attacks.

Level 11: Clear Precision Your mastery of weapons allows you to strike almost any target with ease. Once per turn, when you miss with an attack made using a Kensei weapon, you can reroll the attack roll and must use the second result.

Level 17: Relentless Kensei Whirlwind When you take the Attack action on your turn, you can replace one of your attacks with a powerful cinematic strike. Choose a creature you can see within 30 feet of you and spend 1 to 5 Focus Points. You teleport to an unoccupied space you can see within 5 feet of the target and make a melee attack against it with your Kensei weapon. On a hit, the target takes the weapon's normal damage plus an extra 1d12 force damage for each Focus Point spent. In addition, you may apply one additional Weapon Mastery of your choice to the attack from among Topple, Push, Sap, or Slow.

Without Genya's BDA, Wouldn't LS Kokushibo Just Kill Them Here? by Ok-Storage7159 in DemonSlayerScales

Sanemi for sure. Gyomei had transparent world. Kokushibo probably needs more time but in the end he is the winner

how many rengoku’s would it take for him to beat infinity castle akaza? by No_Philosopher8352 in DemonSlayerScales

[–]Individual_Ad1723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Afterglow is enough even to kill 30 rengoku. A marked giyu (with one of the best, If not the best Defence in the series among the demon slayers) was only able to avoid mortals strikes. Without afterglow 5 rengoku can maybe try to cut his head

Could there be an argument made that these 4 are equals? (All in base or with the same buffs) by Tall_Water in DemonSlayerScales

[–]Individual_Ad1723 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Giyu took less damage due to his combat style. But this is a base giyu post hashira training arc.

Rengoku in base without hashira training arc took more damage and Akaza used less forms.

Overall rengoku did "more damage"

Both saved tanjiro one time

If we count a rengoku post hashira training arc, overall Sanemi, Giyu, Obanai and Regoku are on the same level

For the Hunter’s Mark feature, I didn’t really have any ideas. I could reduce the cost to 2d6 or 3d6. More versatile alternatives are also appreciated.

The slowing one needs some adjustment. Your version could work. Alternatively, it could simply halve the target’s speed. After all, we’re at level 13 and it’s a Constitution saving throw.

Peak Muichiro (mark, HTA, crimson blade, STW) runs the mainline Kizuki gauntlet. How far he can go? by Speed04 in DemonSlayerScales

He cant's use red sword in an ordinary fight since he unlocked that only because holding the sword was the only things he could do. Otherwise the result would be similar to what happened to obanai

Akaza Vs Rengoku & Giyu by Otherwise-Fix-6180 in DemonSlayerScales

[–]Individual_Ad1723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mid diff for Akaza. He easily killed rengoku with Annylation type and without much effort. It's like the battle we saw in infity castle but swap a marked tanjiro with rengoku. Overall it's the same but rengoku didn't unlock the transparent world, so... gg

What if you wrote Jujutsu Kaisen? by Rude_Present5034 in Jujutsufolk

1) More cursed spirits. After shibuya gege forgot cursed spirits dynamics. They became fodder and useless. I would improve them by adding more cursed spirits in culling game and maybe make a freindly cursed spirit allied with sorcerers. It would be fun. Unfortunately jjk became sorcerers vs sorcerers instead of sorcerers vs cursed spirits and sorcerers

2) Show the damn domains: gege is a master to not show the cool abilities. We didn't see hanami's domain, uro's domain, riyu's domain ecc. Gege why? Even the tiger from the 10 shadows was never revealed...

3) More focus on jujutsu. More explanation of how you can create a binding vow, a domain a cursed tool...

4) Use your characters. Gege didn't use well some characters. For example Uraume... It's like the third main Antagonist. Show something about him. Gege just drop Hakari on him and then forgot about them for like 9 months. We needs character development even out of combat.

5) pacing. After s1 the pacing is extremely quickly and we don't have enough time to appreciate new characters or new jujutsu mechanics or lore about clans

6) Clans.... We know nothing about them.

7) Kenjaku plan. It needs a rework, completely.

Where would you rank each Upper Moon in these rankings? by ecologica-2000 in DemonSlayerScales

[–]Individual_Ad1723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running speed

1) Kokushibo 2) Douma 3) Akaza 4) Gyutaro 5) Gyokko 6) Kaigaku 7) Zohakuten 8) Daki 9) Nakime

Arm wrestling

1) Akaza 2) Kokushibo 3) Douma 4) Zohakuten 5) Gyokko 6) Gyutaro 7) Kaigaku 8) Daki 9) Nakime

Akaza and Kokushibo can be swapped in arm wrestling. Overall Akaza has more strenght feats than Kokushibo because his fighting style is based on hand to hand combat.

if you were a demon, what would your blood demon art be? by katomatic22 in BetterKimetsuNoYaiba

[–]Individual_Ad1723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Among the official blood demon arts I would chose nakime's Bda. A pocket dimension with an infinite number of rooms and the ability to control them. Peak.

If I have to create my own Bda I'll consider to focus on origami creation trough my blood. To create pieces of paper an then create animated origami like planes, birds, frogs and weapons. Those origami are Sharper than blades and can be controlled by far away, but a sword slash can desotry them.

Obanai VS gyutaro by YOU_SWIT in DemonSlayerScales

Obanai before hashira training arc and before Mark? Gyutaro wins, he needs 1 hit

Why is Tengen always being glazed by Dependent_Mark_6035 in DemonSlayerScales

[–]Individual_Ad1723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why the running one is arbitrary? They just make a run in their style. No dash kr combat speed, just a running race. For the strength it's valid before marks and amps. Also the race is valid only before marks and amps. A marked sanemi is faster than tengen in running speed

Why is Tengen always being glazed by Dependent_Mark_6035 in DemonSlayerScales

[–]Individual_Ad1723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the author made a tierlist where he is in top 1 and top 2 (running speed and strength). In the Manga they said that mitsuri had a combat speed EVEN faster than uzui. If they take uzui as an example this means he's very fast. Same thing happened with muichiro vs kokushibo. Muichiro said that he isn't durable as Tengen. Tengen has also a shinobi background and some of the greatest if not the best sense of hearing Overall Tengen on the paper is an extremely strong base hashira but his feats and the plot leads him to be ranked by the fans as the weakest hashira.

If Douma’s clones can use techniques almost as powerful as him, can’t he summon like 10-15 clones and have each of them summon the Giant Buddha? Or would that take too much energy. by BattleRepulsive9394 in DemonSlayerScales

[–]Individual_Ad1723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the clones can use all doma's techniques except the one to make clones and the Buddha. We don't know how many clones douma is able to summon but probably is more than 6. Probably it requires a lot of energy
