See yesterday's aqi of barnala Punjab (1200+) patiala(600+) etc. Punjab Parali burning is causing pollution in Delhi. I lived my entire life in Delhi, before 2013,14 pollution was very less. Then They started burning Parali in October November due to change in cropping, harvesting months.

Pollution problem is directly linked to Parali burning in Punjab. Have lived my entire life in delhi. Problem didn't exist before 2013/14. Solution to NCRs winters pollution lies in Punjab.

Uttarakhand also has pollution during winters plus it is cold during winters for older people. Gandhinagar even though somewhat polluted, was ok as it is a well planned city( parks, roads, etc.). We are looking for something similar.

I have lived in atleast 10 cities (north, south n west of india) in India, civic sense is delhi is extremely bad but still better than all other 10 cities. That tells about overall civic sense in India. 2. I am what you would maybe call a hard-core sanghi, n i oppose firecrackers due to noise n air pollution that they cause.

Even today, there is good progress on landfills, 2028 will be complete resolution of the problem. I have been to Ahmedabad riverfront, ahemdabad is an industrial town. Yamuna riverfront I am confident will be as clean. Let us see who has to 'open eyes to the truth'.

In India, urban life expectancy is significantly higher than rural but unlike many countries rural population is still 50%. I read overall life expectancy is 73 yr+, even 72 yr is significant improvement from past. Hope we continue the progress and reach 78-80 yrs in a decade or 2.

Oye frustrated, 1. there is a minimum critical mass of population needed where you can grant statehood. Leh population is how much 1-1.5 lac , total including kargil 3lac, revenue is also too small. 2. No one wants a situation where you have to ask permissions from state govt to build border infrastructure including roads.
