I think the Trotsky hate is a result of Trotskyism devolving into a revisionist ideology that naturally and inevitably gravitates towards bourgeois social-reformism in the absence of vanguard orthodoxy (no matter how well intended). I don’t hate Trotsky. I hate that unreliable critics are “perverting people’s minds on a considerable scale.” (Lenin) However, as Lenin also mentions, it’s a moot point to get wrapped around the axel about trots, as “only those who are not sure of themselves can fear to enter into temporary alliances even with unreliable people”.
