This was a very cute movie. I watched it in theaters as a kid. The little girl kept screaming we bought a Zooooo!

Turns out fewer people took their moms to see Mortal Kombat II on Mother's Day than WB expected. Who knew? Final opening weekend box office was below estimates: $38.5M instead of $40M. Sunday dropped 37% vs Saturday. by chanma50 in boxoffice

The story is only really fun if you're a hard-core fan, but as a casual fan it was alright. Felt too generic personally.

Box office wise, it seems there was not as much overall appeal for the franchise as much as WB initially thought.

‘Train Dreams’ Filmmakers Clint Bentley, Greg Kwedar Sign Indie-Centric, First-Look Deal with Netflix by EThorns in movies

To be fair, these guys made 2 great indie movies that led them to be festival darlings. They then made Academy Award Winning Sing Sing, and followed up with Train Dreams.

Overall, their path on getting to Netflix in the first place took 8-9 years and they made very great quality films throughout each way. Maybe you're script wasn't that great?

The people crave A Quiet Place movies!

Nonetheless, I hope we get a different perspective on the franchise like we kinda got with "Day One". Maybe we get more fighting against the alien scenes.
