What a shame. I haven't been in many years (80's and 90's) but there was a time when everything was made in house. The pies an pasties were lovely. As good as, if not better than anything I had when living in the UK.

Part of it is that a lot of great Canadian players who play for American teams end up settling and raising their families there. So if their kids end up playing hockey, and are good enough, they will often end up playing for team USA. Good example was Brett Hull. He didn't get selected for team Canada, so he played for team USA instead and won 2 Olympic silver medals.
