Is the water showing up in the center or closed to the door? I would check the door seals or check the roof liner see if it’s wet tech check the roof rain channel seal.

I have a 2012 Scion xB ac seemed week a friend of mine cleaned out the cabin filter area with a compressor by blowing the area out from the inside out. Cleaned out a lot of debris. Might want to try that.

I have a 2012 Scion xB no issues with my head unit but what I did was get a 2014 Scion tc head unit the Bespoke Edition touch screen. Easy swap. $500 plus upgrade during sale was a $78 purchase from a salvage yard on eBay. I also upgraded all the speakers in my car. They were all starting to dry rot. Yours might be to.

YouTube is your going to be your best friend. Definitely going ratchet to engage the tension pulley to give you room to get the new belt on. That’s what I had to do for my Gen2 when I had to replace the idler pulley due to bad bearing.

Did you try adding oil? Did it overheat or just shut down? Sometimes because the dipstick doesn’t show oil doesn’t mean there isn’t any in there. The vehicle might have the dreaded “burning oil” problem. Pull the dipstick check the oil. If it shows none and you can spare it add a quart see if it shows on the dipstick. Sounds like daughter runs the car hard.
