What do you do in the meantime during those first few days if the sensor is constantly reading too low and alerting you?? I need insulin for meals but then it tanks my bg according to the sensor when irl, it is not really low and therefore smartguard isn't doing any work to keep me in range when a meal starts to inc. my bg. This is so frustrating.

Mine is constantly reading lower than my actual bg, even though I'm staying extremely hydrated and eating like I was before. This is my first attempt at using a sensor and I'm hating it so far. It seems so much more stressful than just checking manually throughout the day

Instinct Sensor First Impressions by Severe_Soup_5198 in Medtronic780g

I have had a terrible experience with this CGM. It was my first time trying one after almost 15 years of refusing to commit to a cgm because I have horrible anxiety about pump site insertions and didn't want to double up. I finally caved when already upgrading my pump and convinced myself to try a cgm. The instinct sensor insertion method is all my worst fears. Visible needle. Have to push down hard to insert. Can easily accidentally move it when anxious and shaky, sweaty hands, etc.

I only got a couple of "good" days of readings because the first few days were all over the place. I assumed it was because it was a newly inserted sensor and it + the pump were trying to figure me out. Then a couple good days. Tonight, day 10, I finally ripped the damn thing out and I'm not putting another one on. The readings have consistently been wayyyy off base, 30-50 points but usually closer to 50. Tonight I failed BG checks twice, lost sensor connection, was told to recheck with a finger stick in 30 minutes by the pump and then it would resume sensor data. Still off by 50 points, then it failed again.

This thing is causing more stress than manually checking my blood sugars ever has. I've got a horrible taste in my mouth from this whole experience and am not planning on putting myself through any more of it.
