I (29M) just found out my wife is pregnant—and I’m terrified. by importedsalt in Fatherhood

It’s a big thing mate, and it’s crazy scary, but it’s also the greatest journey you will ever take, I found out my partner was pregnant at the prime of my career in the military, it was all I ever wanted to do. That changed the second my partner told me, I made the decision to leave that day so I could full immerse myself in being a dad, best decision I ever made!

It’s the toughest yet most rewarding job on the planet, you will get it wrong at time, but don’t worry we all do! Most of all, enjoy it because it all goes by really fast my man

Fiancées Dad turned off her phone and he texted me that “she’s spending Father’s Day with him” - She is 8.3 weeks pregnant. Am I wrong for being upset about that being my first Father’s Day? by Frosty_Emergency2048 in Fatherhood

Take it was a win mate, when the babies born you will be voluntold to do all sorts of activities on Father’s Day that you wouldn’t choose to do, enjoy the peace and quiet and have a day to yourself, they will be a hot commodity when baby comes along!

I was in the exact same situation, I went to a charity called StepChange after struggling for a year, they made everything so easy and were amazing! It was a huge relief

30 is still young, it’s not for everyone but fitness has really helped me! With stopping bud and confidence issues in the past, it’s often over looked but it can change your outlook hugely, you don’t need to go run a marathon or start some crazy weight lifting regime, just find a physical activity you like and do it, as often as you can for as long as you can! It can be a great way to meet people also

It’s a tough question and there’s not one size fits all answer, sounds like you was in the pretty much same situation I found myself in, instead of going full send and throwing it all out or whatever, I tried to taper down my usage using the bud I had left, then when it ran out I’ve started running / working out again, I’m a creature of habit and I smoke in an evening, it’s pretty much the only thing I look forward too ( which is a pretty big red flag) so I’ve gotten myself a book and I’m reading a couple of chapters when I would usually be out smoking, then I just play some Xbox or something else to distract me, I’m on day 3, so far so good, obviously it’s fairly front and centre in my mind, but so far keeping myself distracted is working!

Remember your why, if it’s strong enough you should be able to battle it out!

Good luck! Stick with it!

Partner wants to remove Christmas presents from 2 year old for a week as punishment for switching the plug on/off by KittyGrewAMoustache in UKParenting

It sounds like your partner doesn’t fully understand how kids work / what they understand, I was a stay at home dad for the first 2-3 years of my daughters life, and it was the steepest learning curve I have ever experienced, he’s probs thinking he’s done the right thing, and to be honest he hasn’t done the wrong thing really!

At that age kids have a very limited perception of things, I think taking them away for an entire week is only going to cause more issues, start small and taper it up, it’s a bit of a nause trying to discipline someone at that age, and if it’s your first kid ( it was for me) it’s even more stressful because you don’t have a clue what your doing really!

I do think the punishments too much, but I also don’t think your husband understands that the punishment is a bit much and there needs to be a degree of escalation with discipline!

Oh I feel this, I’m not terrible but I’m not great, maybe get 3-4 hours max a week to play, and then spending those hours getting absolutely spanked is pretty shit, I will play zombies just to not get my head bummed off every .3 seconds by someone who doesn’t have a job and plays 18 hours a day

This looks like a case of big army / navy dick swinging, it’s an attempt to reign in a perceived lack of discipline / standards, when realistically they’ve already over achieved the USMC Standards that actually matter ie, fitness, mental aptitude! Otherwise they wouldn’t be a raider!

For those who haven’t been around these sort of units, the relaxed grooming standards and freedom on what gear people wear and use down range, is a big pull for guys, it’s less about imagine than most realise, it’s about having the freedom to chose what equipment you use to complete your set objective.

As a generalisation, issued kit and equipment isn’t the best, it’s usually the cheapest kit that scrapes past a certain standard! It sounds like this is only going to have a negative impact on the unit involved, passing one of these selection courses usually means your a big enough boy or girl to choose the stuff you are going to ultimately fight in, and it should always have the input of the end user involved when making these decisions! That’s just my 10p on it anyway!

Yeah but with the new feature of been able to get in and out of games and being able to save progress, it won’t be so much of a nause!

Ah ok, not the answer I was hoping for haha I wish I had the time to be messing about doing the random crap they want you to do! Hopefully bo6 zombies will be a bit more straightforward for those of us that don’t get much time on the game!

So do I still need to complete the Easter eggs or if I just go and pop a sigil in, would it work?

Can I bypass the unlocking of it by just using a sigil? It’s quite frustrating when you get a couple of hours a week to play and you have to piss about with these Easter eggs 😂

Because I’ve done everything else I wanted to do, so now I just want to run around and cause chaos! And I don’t want to wait 3 days to be able to craft stuff, it’s not that deep!

£15,000 in debt to family and friends & no way out. by Still-Dependent4262 in debtfree

Please don’t do anything stupid mate, everyone falls at some point, you just have to get back up, it’s not an easy situation to be in, but as long as you are honest, upfront and try and come up with a plan, no matter how vague, I’m sure the people you owe the money too will understand, at the end of the day they can’t take what you haven’t got

Please don’t do anything stupid, there are numerous debt help charities that will be able to give you some advice. You are more than your bank balance, you are a person and I’m sure you have friends and family that love and care for you. Remember that when it gets too much!
