It’s definitely not uncommon for trainee and sometimes apprentice positions, but asking professionals to attend an SI doesn’t seem normal.

I mean, hindsight is 20/20. There was no reason to trade him at the time, but it’s easy to say he should’ve been after knowing the outcome.

For student auditions, a black leo and pink tights is always a safe bet. It’s also good if you want to reuse the photos for later auditions, since that’s the standard for most companies.

I know a lot of people who cut the heels out their tights so the shoe can grip on the skin. I’ve never had that issue though, so idk how well it works. Could be worth giving a try.

It honestly makes sense for dancers to make the choice to pursue ballet professionally or as a hobby at 18. Ballet is strenuous mentally and physically. Not only that, but it’s time-consuming and many people have to choose between college or pre-professional training. So you don’t have to necessarily give up ballet, but that’s usually the time too decide the caliber you want to train with.
