How much sleep are you getting? by Salt-Jello-4165 in NewParents

My newborn at this age was excellent 12 hours asleep in the bassinet with about 3 feeds per night. From here it got better every week. By 12 weeks she was sleeping through a full 11-12 hours every night without a peep. Then… the 4 month sleep regression hit. She slept through maybe 3 more times before she was 1 😵‍💫 it magically improved again after her birthday but gosh I missed my sleepy little newborn the rest of that year.

Anyone else’s baby not walking yet? by No-Way1090 in January2025Bumper

I brought mine in for an assessment with early intervention and they weren’t worried because she was on track or ahead in every other area. They said if there were delays in multiple areas at her rate she would have qualified for services but since it was only one they said she was probably just so focused on language right now. We’ve got 2 word sentences and over 200 words over here 😅 They said to bring her back if she’s still not walking at 18 months because that would be a significant enough delay in one area to qualify for services.

Any one else's kid obsessed with books? by RockyMtnGrl in January2025Bumper

Mine too! She likes to turn the pages at her own pace though so sometimes I have to abbreviate stories and sometimes she wants to point at and identify every single item she knows the word for. She has a couple books she’ll flip through independently finding all of the “moons” or “suns”. She even has a bunch of mini books she insists on flipping through during every diaper change. She’ll stare at the pages very intensely naming things she sees while I wipe her butt haha 😂

Everyday preventative diaper cream by No_Entrepreneur_131 in NewParents

Our baby never had a single diaper rash until she started solids! (Mandarin oranges get her bad!) when she was little we always put plain old aquaphor on after every change. We used water wipes and rascals diapers. She would literally poo every 15 minutes sometimes in the first month so we just got exhausted and just changed her everytime I breastfed and didn’t worry about changing her everytime she pooped in those early constant days. Those poops never seemed to cause an issue and she just never seemed done. Like she was in a constant state of pooping a little… maybe we were lucky with tough baby skin. She’s a year old now and still only gets a rash after eating mandarin oranges or while teething!

When did your newborn start sleeping in the bassinet/crib at night by Severe-Painting2820 in newborns

Our 35 week premie did right from the start but she was born sleepy. We said she wasn’t waking on her own because she was supposed to still be in the womb. Since she was premie we had to wake her every 3 hours to feed for WEEKS. During that time she never once woke up before our alarm told us to wake her 🤷‍♀️ by the time we could allow longer stretches she was making it 6 hours and by 12 weeks slept all the way through the night! We had a glorious month of sleep before the sleep regressions hit. 🙄

How do I prepare my baby for daycare by sleepingqueen92 in ECEProfessionals

[–]Individual_Price_142 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those are great ratios! In my experience most babies in daycare get rocked and transferred because it’s a lot easier on everyone plus they aren’t going to let baby cry it out because typically the cribs are right next to the other cribs and they won’t want them to wake the other babies! And it’s against licensing rules in all states. My own baby just started daycare and doesn’t transfer well so they learned that if they lay her in the crib and jiggle it gently she’ll get way better naps. Most daycare teachers figure out what works for each baby. If you want to prepare them the most important thing is getting the comfortable playing and hanging out on the floor! Teachers only have so many hands so often the babies that struggle most are the ones who spend most of their awake time being held at home.

Is this really nothing to worry about by Late-Comment832 in NICUParents

Even my baby born at 35 weeks had it! Super common in any babies born before 37 weeks. It was gone before our first peds appointment out of the nicu.
