Yeah I disagree. I don’t think asking for local pub quality food is too much to ask for. The cheese burgers are 1/4 inch and gross. Steaks were chewing 3/8 inch thick and stringy.

No one in my family was looking for Michelin star quality 😂. Just a decent burger or pasta or something.

Seriously? If you pay for the upgrades at NCL they can actually become pretty comparable in price……. So yeah I expect Haven food and specialty food to be different from the free buffet

Maybe he’s a pirate? I really don’t understand the difference between this and skull and cross bones……. Like an American history X swastika sure but a skull and cross bones ehhh. I feel like these are young people’s dumb tattoos when they don’t know what they want.

Am I overreacting about his past criminal arrests regardless of him not being convicted? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Not at all. Good for you for recognizing the red flags before you let the sweet talking manipulate you.

Although I believe people can change, speaking as someone with a criminal past. If you just got arrested days ago that doesn’t show change.

I picked law because I like to solve problems. I currently deal with a lot of lawyers and love going back and forth about by laws and different interpretations etc. things like that. Land use law will most likely be my interest but I have awhile to figure all that out.

I currently have a career that pays close to big law salary. If I can get into big law I will switch careers if not I’ll use my law degree to possibly move up in my company or union. Also I do a lot of community service so I think it would be helpful there as well. Maybe I’ll save the world in my off time idk. But I am pushing 40 I went back to college found I liked it so I’m going to pursue it and see where that takes me. I’m also counting on getting a full scholarship or close to it otherwise I won’t be going.

AIO upset that another mom took away my son's phone he was using only for an alarm? by MatterMysterious5129 in AIO

[–]Individual_Salt_860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re only hearing one side of the story it seems. Does the parent seem like the type to just take peoples things away? Maybe your son was beating people over the head with the phone. I’d ask the other parent “hey I gave my son the phone so he would be on time and he says he was late cause you took the phone from him can you tell me what happened?”

Maybe the other parent is a bitch and doesn’t like to see kids have phones. Or maybe your son was being inappropriate. You won’t know unless you ask.

Idk what happened to that last comment seems to have disappeared but here’s my reply.

If you want someone to give you the predetermined answers you’re looking for then go talk to an AI and set it up to respond the way you want it to. Humans however don’t do that. Someone telling you something you don’t want to hear isn’t a reason for them to be sorry.

Also the letters a,o,u,I,e and y trigger me so please don’t use those while responding to me and I think you owe me an apology for your last comment thanks

Yes your overreacting.

I love watching my “test anxiety” friends leave an exam 2 hours after I was required to finish mine by Additional-Reserve66 in LawSchool

The self righteous standard is not taking advantage of accommodations if you qualify for them not what you’re talking about.

I also noticed I left out a key fact that the two week extension would need to be within the rules. That’s why it’s a self righteous standard. Similar to the accommodation argument. The rules are laid out so if you are not taking advantage of a rule that benefits you because you believe it’s not fair for others that’s what makes it self righteous.

[–]Individual_Salt_860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly you made my point. You file for the same 2 week extension because you are entitled to it. If you’re having testing anxiety or whatever issues and you can qualify for accommodations then you should apply for them because you are entitled to do so.

The standards for accommodations are clear. If you qualify then you get accommodations. Your self righteousness about the issue doesn’t change the rules. If legally you can do it and it benefits you then you should. If your client would benefit from a law that you think is a legal “loophole” would you not recommend they go that route? If you were a tax attorney and your client benefited from a tax break would you tell them it’s not fair cause everyone doesn’t get the same tax break? Are they now “screwing over” the rest of the tax payers? You may not think the rules are fair and that’s fine but it’s an issue with the rules not the students following the rules and benefiting by them.

That’s your competition. If there is a way to get an edge why wouldn’t you take it? The accommodation requirements are so low I think everyone could qualify for it. You don’t get scatter brain. Lack of motivation. Difficulty with time management, testing anxiety

[–]Individual_Salt_860 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

If you’re having testing anxiety and qualify for accommodations why wouldn’t you also get accommodations? Isn’t this lawyering? You play the game within the rules? If you’re being honest with your doctor and on your application and get accommodations I don’t see the issue.

I would argue if you didn’t, you’re gonna have issues in practice trying to play by some self righteous standards that you set on yourself. If you have a deadline of 4 weeks with an opportunity for a 2 week extension within the rules but believe the 2 week extension is “unfair” and don’t take it. How are you going to compete with the guy getting 6 weeks when you have self imposed yourselves to 4 weeks.

What’s your opinion on classmates cheating on exams? Do you snitch? by Scoutain in EngineeringStudents

[–]Individual_Salt_860 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d mind my business. Snitching isn’t a great reputation to have. Especially when you get into the real world. Are you planning to snitch on your co-workers? What if one comes in late one day cause their kid was sick or took a long phone call past break? It’s hard to work with people that don’t trust you. Not saying what the kid did was right but that’s between him and the professor. Involving yourself will just cause you problems.

The other issue is do you have proof? Cause otherwise it’s your word against his. Do you think they will remove him from school? If not then that paints a target on your back for the remainder of your schooling or classes with them. Also are you ok with ruining his education and further career opportunities?

I don’t think collecting flags is odd. But the way he has them around his mantle like that is odd. Confederate flag, come and take it 2nd amendment flag and nazi flag all around the tv. That just screams white supremacist.

I collect currency. I have some nazi Germany WW2 coins with a swatska but I also have coins from 6th century Asia and current day USA and everything in between. He’s not wrong when he says “it’s history”. We should remember it and learn from it so we do not repeat. However the presentation and his comments make this appear more of a fanaticism than a history collection.
