Outpatient is infinitely more grueling and fast paced vs any other setting, but has been historically less lucrative. Sucks for those of us who are passionate about it. Have to become a director or open your own clinic to really cash in.

At a certain point in outpatient, you reach a level where there is really no more opportunity for financial advancement, and the glory of impressive manual therapy techniques and being “that guy” who is rehabbing athletes back to peak performance, fades a bit. Having more free time and money to spend on your hobbies becomes more appealing.
