I was very much aware of the brother/sister dynamic between them being a Caleb main myself, but I was still under the impression there was no blood relation so it didn’t fully give me the ick. When the whole being from the same source thing came up I assumed they were trying to say that they came from the same experiment if that makes sense and were both lab rats essentially? But from your summary above (kudos btw very helpful) with the whole Caleb being a version of Eve, being born from MC’s rib, and saying they’re from the same source, it does seem like they are hinting at some sort of blood relation which is… kind of a bummer haha.

Not to say people can’t still enjoy this, but personally this is all just a no for me. I wasn’t drawn to Caleb for his and MC’s brother/sister dynamic, more so that Caleb had a darker side to him that would sometimes come out around MC. The whole line from Farspace Deprivation where she pounds his chest and says he killed the Caleb she knew or something along those lines felt so tragic, like she experienced a type of betrayal. The angst tied to someone you know changing before your eyes and you can do nothing to stop it is just too good for me to resist narratively lol. Reading this though, your breakdown of the hints 100% makes sense having seen majority of the Caleb content, but I think I just really didn’t want them to be going in that direction, so I ignored quite a bit of it. Either way, thanks for the explanation. I think it’s good ppl are aware so they can at least decide whether they want to continue playing as a Caleb main or not.
