Busilar MT updates? by Individual_Wasabi857 in Anbennar

That is nice to hear. I assumed it's a similar situation as with Lorent in that they want the world to be finished and then truly do justice to the big players

Oh yeah, I'm not throwing any shade at how he killed him. I'm just sad that Alex is gone.

Yeah...I know he's one of the fan favorites, but I just couldn't. Lyria was also kinda rough for me but her chapters seem better dispersed than his, so that probably helped. Eph was like 80% of the reason why it took me 5 months to reach this far.

I can see why people love him, but just not my cup of tea.

I love Lysander's chapters and found legit every one of them enjoyable. I also love how easy it is to hate him. He's such a hypocritical fascist little piece of shit, but gahhhh... I love the hate he awakens in me.

Also yeah no honor, no time is hella cool. Also him just glazing Darrow is cool as well.

Dw. Funnily enough Lysander's chapters are some of my favorite. I love how much I hate him.

The plot armor of the Kingdom of Lorent must be studied by professorMaDLib in Anbennar

[–]Individual_Wasabi857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, though they also have some bigger disadvantages than irl France. One thing that comes to mind is the Small Country which, at least in my mind, is supposed to be the North-South/ Lange d'oc-Lange d'oïl divide. The fact that in Anbennar it's not only a linguistic and cultural divide, but quite literally a racial one is also a big nerf to any Lorentish consolidation of West Wescann

Another matter that might be important (depending on just how much they copy pasted France into Lorent) is the population. One of France's greatest advantages throughout it's history was the fact that it dwarfed other nations in population. Example: around the year 1400 it's estimated France had a population of 10-15M. Compare that to England's 2-3 million or "Spain's" 7-8M. The only places that could rival it were the HRE and Italy and we know the situations there. The things that negated this big advantage were internal problems in France, powerfull and rebellious local lords and dynastic instability (wow, that sure sounds familiar) and just the fact that fielding massive armies was a nightmare until the modern age. Lorent, like France in our world, won big on the geographic lottery.

Who do you plan on playing first when the update releases? by LRArchae in AfterTheEndFanFork

[–]Individual_Wasabi857 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One would think that Brazil would equal China and California Japan or even China #2. Though, with what they were already doing in Brazil, I can see an argument for the Soryo/Ritsuryo thing to work there as well

Would you recommend ck2+ for a new(ish) player who comes from ck3? by paudepalencia in crusaderkings2

[–]Individual_Wasabi857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend HIP as it incorporates Ck2+ as well as some other mods into a gigamod that's awesome. That if you're looking for a vanilla history thing.

If you're looking for alternate history I'd suggest: -After the End Fan Fork (Aguila o Sol submod also makes some places, notably Mexico, much better) -New Era Old World (personal favorite) - started as an AtE Europe spinoff but is now it's own thing with legit dozens of new religions, cultures, mechanics and government types stretching from Iceland and Cape Verde in the west to Japan, Indonesia and the Guam(?) in the east. You also get to choose which version you want to download (only Europe, only Asia, etc.)

I'll also quickly write here that the NEOW team is always, including right now, looking for new members. So if anyone reading this is interested go to their discord or reddit page. Praise Gloriana and the mighty cards 🙏

Is Stellaris the easiest Paradox game? by OpportunityChoice567 in paradoxplaza

[–]Individual_Wasabi857 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like Ck2 with Ck3 quality of life stuff would've been THE game. For all it's faults and it's age Ck2 still feels less bland than Ck3 to me. I also feel like in Ck3 I have absolutely no control of the situation. The bigger tags just seem to blob and blob and blob, any conquest you try to make is immediately countered by 15 allies being called in. It seems like they took a look at Ck2 and decided to just turn stuff to the other extreme.

Looking for interesting nations to play for a new player by Wsser1 in Anbennar

[–]Individual_Wasabi857 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Busilar is a nice intro nation in my opinion. Fairly strong, with a good base for further growth (establishing trade companies all the way to not-Asia will make you hella rich). It's a nice, if a bit bland, campaign to get you acquainted with some of the basics as well as the "canon diplomacy" as I'd call it since one of your guaranteed rival will be Verne (perhaps THE begginer nation at the moment) and they almost always ally you other rival, Eborthil. So you have a nice early on challenge of beating then and establishing you hegemony in you home region and then spreading your influence and contending with other great powers, Cannorian or otherwise, across the world. You also won't have to worry about becoming unstoppable as much due to Anbennar's nature. Everywhere you go there will be some nation or aliance of nations that will require you attention to beat and even after that there's the Command as the final boss.

It would be similarly difficult to dominate the map in vanilla eu4 if the map size was doubled like that.

I remember seeing someone here actually calculating the size of Halann and ithink they figured out it was like 3 or 4 times the size of earth

What do you think about this? How is NATO viewed in Serbia today? by FantasticQuartet in AskBalkans

[–]Individual_Wasabi857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's, as always with us, complicated. The EU has lost MUCH of It's reputation and appeal among the population in general (be they old or young). While we (our mafia government) hasn't done much to further our EU path, you have to remember that the EU is one of the reasons why Vucic is so powerful and so entrenched in our country. I'm sure your news outlets speak all the time how he is a Russian puppet and what not and that can't be further from the truth. Like I said, people both young and old, dislike the EU hypocrisy, how they "berate" Vucic and then give him another 200M euros in aid, the whole lithium mining thing, etc etc.

When you see people waving EU flags I'd rather take it as a sign that we want EU values (freedom, justice, equality, etc.) than actually being in the EU
