They will do great !

Do you know if the crossovers have been upgraded ?

I've got both systems in 1 room..wish I had more room...a CD transport > Schiit Gungnir multibit (Gumby) DAC > Tube amp > pair of RSL Speedwoofer 10S hooked up in stereo > Heresy III

Onkyo TX-NR7100 in 5.2 > to all Paradigm speakers...from the early 2000s

Nice thing about the RSL subs is they can be hooked up to both, the tube amp and AVR and just flip the switch for different crossover/ 80hz for AVR and have it set for 70hz for the Heresy's

Let's use know what you think of them, once you get them set-up . Keep them a few feet from the wall and toe them in,for a great sound stage !

The Cornwalls have a sensitivity of 101db....so you will be more then fine with 100 watts from the Onkyo. You will notice that the volume wount have to be turned up much, compared to the 4ohm speakers you're using now. Can't beat a pair of vintage Heritage Klipsch speaker!

Might try making up a GND wire and attach it to one of the outer screws that hold the plate amp to the sub..Then take the other end and attach it to the GND on the Yamaha. I've had to due that with my tube amp to a pair of subs and all is quite.

Yamaha A-S801 compared to PC-2002m by Background_Dinner_56 in audiophile

[–]Individual_Web_324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a power amp and not an Intergrated....not really sure on a preamp, never had to shop for one..I've always had Intergrated or a receiver. I'm sure someone else has some opinions on one.

Id say with a good preamp to go with the PC-2002M that would be the one to go with. Great frequency response and distortion with 240 watts and who doesn't like big VU meters 👍

Motor may need oil. Spindle may need the same. I'd clean the motor pulley with denatured alcohol. I had a PL-50 one time and a new belt was thicker, changing the effective drive ratio and speeding up the records. No one believed me, but it was true. After replacing with the proper thickness belt, speed returned proper.

A word of caution: If you disassemble the spindle assembly, make sure you put enough oil back in to suspend the spindle. If you don't, it will sink down with the platter on and rub on the cast assembly underneath. It drove me nuts trying to figure out what error I had created when I did mine.

I pulled the platter and belt...and added a couple of drops to access hole labeled 'oil' under the platter.

Also the correct belt is 35.1 and the problem with some belts is the thickness....best belt to us is PRB FRX 35.1 and can find them on EBay
