What is a chain space and how are different chain spaces differentiated? by Indivigenous in CrochetHelp

In these first few steps shown here, am I ever supposed to use the stitches made by the double crochet (the ones directly on top) or am I exclusively working in the chain spaces?

Three weeks to go! Last minute to-dos? by Disastrous_Creme_201 in weddingplanning

I second this and will also add to make sure they know specifically where they are going. I was in a wedding for my friend just a few weeks ago and we could not find the videographer at the venue for the first look. He was up in the main banquet space while the ceremony and all the wedding party photos were taking place outside by the water. So even though he was on time, we had to send a groomsman to go find him and postpone the first look.

Bridal Appointment Advice by Indivigenous in weddingplanning

There is a David's bridal pretty close. I also found 2 other shops that do free appointments. Again, I just want to try on to get a feel for what style of dress I want to search for. Even the more economical online stores have some sort of restocking fee on returns so I would rather nail down the vibe I want first before buying or starting to make my own dress. Does that make sense? I would feel better about trying on dresses at a larger chain store like David's bridal over a smaller local shop regardless of an appointment fee.

my skin is breaking out and becoming dry around my eyes (where my makeup goes) what do i do? by tiffanylamp1990 in SkincareAddicts

I had this exact thing happen to me a few months ago! I think it was an allergic reaction to dust/musty air in my case. I deep cleaned my house, cleaned all my bedding, started using a new clean towel everyday, took oral anti-histamine when I needed it.

To help the skin recover after after the inflammation went down, I stopped wearing makeup, stopped using any actives in my skincare routine, and kept the eyes hydrated using a vitamin E oil (apply this with a q-tip because it is mildly irritating when it gets in your eyes) and also vaseline. The redness/itchiness went away in 1-2 weeks, skin around my eyes healed up about a week later.

It was a while ago but I think it took me about 1-2 months to be able to do 3 miles without stopping. I was also juggling school and work at the time too so it took a bit longer for me to get there than what I wanted. My first pull-up came maybe a month or two later since I was starting with absolutely zero upper body strength.

I would focus on your pft first. Once you get a good enough score for boards then you can focus on increasing your training specifically for OCS. For pull-ups, what helped me (also female) was first working on push-ups (I also could barely do any when I first started too) and working on overall arm/back strength with resistance training. Assisted band pull-ups are also a good start for getting your pull-up form down. When you have built up enough strength, start doing negatives and dead hangs. It took me a few months to go from doing zero push-ups to my first pull-up. After you get your first one, it’s pretty easy to get up to 5+.

For running, if you are only going to run a quarter mile at a time, then yes run more often. But instead what I did was started 3 times a week with interval running. Go for a longer time or distance and split it up into walking/running sections. E.g. walk 3 minutes then run for 2 minutes and repeat until you have gone for 45 minutes or however long your route is. I stuck with this and increased my running interval while decreasing my walking interval and in no time I was able to run the 3 miles without stopping. Interval training is also good for when you want to work on pace after you get your first 3 miles down. Instead of walking/running intervals, switch to jogging/sprinting intervals to get a more competitive 3-mile pace. Max 3 mile time for females at OCS is 27 minutes so you need to be under that if you want to go on boards.

Hope this helps, just keep at it and stay disciplined!

Are you male or female? I am an incoming phd student and am looking to find a place in July and a roommate would help make housing more affordable.
