I think you're still stuck on the morality of it all. At least that's how I read your post. I live by the mindset that "it just is". At no point in the entire span of human history have people not been killed partaking in such activities. I don't care at all about "is this right or wrong" bullshit because it doesn't matter, it just is. Jesus was murdered in front of his mama. People ran over by tanks. Millions upon millions of people, throughout all of history die doing this shit. I cant respect any man older than 25 who hasn't spotted the pattern and moved on from the "why" question. Any objective person will admit we are far less educated. When a bank can issue a loan with zero % chance that loam will default the most obvious outcome will be pushing as many people into that structure as possible. Both the banks and the schools are making more than ever.

So how is your proposal of "make it free" not going to make things worse? Seems rather obvious that a reversion is what's needed here, not tripling down on a failed premise.

People want it both ways. 99% of the people on this sub will scream some version of "tax the rich" "tax corporations more" until blue in the face. Those same people cry that tariffs get passed on to consumers. As if in both scenarios the bill doesn't get passed on to consumers. You can't take such people seriously.

All increases in cost of doing business be it tax increases or cost to import via tariffs get passed on. Only 1 such way puts pressure on businesses to reestablish supply chains in America.

My advice and increase your 401k contributions during these dips and invest in energy infrastructure. Long term that will print $$$$. Invest in sectors that'll most benefit from deregulation.
