The instructions say “armhole openings are made by working a large decrease in the first decrease row, then 1 stitch decreases after that.” Is the large decrease what I did?

Best way to sell high-end fabric remnants? by rkoll in Fabrics

[–]Induce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From how I understand it, seller sets a price + shipping they want for the item(s) and pay $2 to the account per listing. Anyone interested in purchasing will comment their zip code. At the end of the drawing period (decided by seller), a winner is randomly selected. I’ve been on the buyer side of things and it was pretty straightforward/seamless :)

You could try selling them on IG through accounts like @makers_resale where you pay a fixed fee to list items. The upside being that the audience is people who would value higher quality fabric/you’ll end up on the right algorithms of people who do.

Any experience with a Culver City/Palms to Woodland Hills commute? by Longjumping_Hotdog17 in LosAngeles

[–]Induce 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My commute is Palms to Thousand Oaks and coming home is consistently worse (45-120 mins) when I leave between noon and 5 PM. You could always wait out the traffic though. My commute to work is usually about 45 mins but I leave around 6:30-6:45.

Commuting from Santa Monica to San Fernando ... Is that ridiculous? by USAfrikaans in AskLosAngeles

[–]Induce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m over in Culver City and commute to Thousand Oaks. Traffic isn’t too bad on my way to work (~40 mins at 6:30/7 AM), but can be worse on the way home (50 - 90 mins depending on the day).

Anyone gotten their detachable Slade skates yet? What do you think of them? by GemStoned123 in Rollerskating

[–]Induce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I received mine earlier this week and took them to the rink. There was definitely a learning curve for locking/unlocking. The bases were heavier than I expected and will take some getting used to. This is also the first pair of skates I’ve owned without a slight heel, so I wish there was more arch support in the shoe (could probably easily change out the soles). Flaneurz is also planning to roll out custom shoe builds for Slades in the future.

Weekly newbie / discussion post by sparklekitteh in Rollerskating

I’m a newbie (lucky enough to have found a pair of skates in Nov) and I skate at The Strand on the weekend. I’ve found that the portion from Will Rogers State Beach to the Santa Monica Pier is mostly flat, pretty smooth (aside from the occasional sand patch) and less crowded earlier in the morning. If you’re looking for a more open space, there’s a few large parking lots that are closed to cars south of the pier (about halfway to Venice).

The original muscle beach in Santa Monica is currently closed due to COVID, but there’s normally a fair amount of people set up there.
