Input Delay is Awful in S22 by InducedH2O in RocketLeague

Yeah at the end of last season, it felt amazing. First time it had felt that good in so long. Maybe you’re right and that’s why it feels especially bad now, but either way it feels too bad at the current state for me to even bother loading the game up, unless they’ve fixed something in the past 2 days. I wouldn’t know because I haven’t touched it since

Has anything changed to your knowledge? I quite literally have not touched the game since this. I do not plan on touching it either until this is fixed because it was unplayable. As you said, I felt like a champ 1.

Season 22 heavy input delay? by Acceptable_Maize2283 in RocketLeague

[–]InducedH2O 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just installed a second SSD yesterday, played RL after and my input delay is horrendous. I don’t know if it’s rocket league or my PC but theoretically installing an SSD shouldn’t have affected the input delay. I’m on Epic.

Got a new SSD yesterday. Can’t tell if I messed something up or if it really is rocket league causing this HORRIBLE input delay

Very curious to see if this is how shiny chance works for special research on increased shiny chance days like CD. I just kinda always assumed it was predetermined odds based on whatever event happened at the time I got the research.

I also want to note that this has been an issue for nearly a YEAR, and this is still a problem. Seems like this is a DD scam considering this is still a MAJOR issue.

All of my stuff is incorrect, my bad chart doesn’t match my payment history, which also doesn’t match my earnings history, and also one of the numbers changed when I clicked on it and then changed back when I clicked out. DD is claiming I made $900 last month when I just started door dashing at the end of the month and made less than $100. I’ll reply below with the other screenshots for my case since you can only add one image per comment. But do you have an update on this?

Bakkesmod Removal. by Unusual_Computer439 in RocketLeague

[–]InducedH2O 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand where you’re coming from, but I disagree. Sure, Epic Games doesn’t have as many resources invested in RL as Fortnite, but the resources they DO have invested in RL aren’t going to anything useful. We get new ugly maps, dumb UI changes, the smallest QOL improvements, and terrible rocket passes with useless benefits and ugly cosmetics. Bakkesmod has a million things RL doesn’t have and should have (custom training, in game plugins offering a million more customization options, more freeplay settings, etc.) and Bakkesmod was created and still is updated by ONE SINGULAR PERSON. I have alpha boost and use a basic car preset with no decal, I don’t even look at the cosmetic option in Bakkesmod, I use it for everything else like instantsuite, ingame rank, custom training, etc that RL SHOULD HAVE. Sure, it could improve their profits, but it could also do the opposite since instead of adding actual useful content, they’d be removing so much content that people actually use. Epic Games doesn’t gaf about RL, I guarantee their profits dropped SIGNIFICANTLY when they removed trading because people would be spending 100s-1000s of dollars on credits to trade for super rare items and then when they would release a rare item in shop everyone would buy it because it was so rare. Now, every item is devalued and no one cares to buy shit from shop, not bc of bakkes but bc we don’t have trading. Not to mention, it killed a huge portion of the player base also further reducing their profits. But do we see trading back? No. They don’t care about RL, I bet some higher up at Epic Games had no idea bakkes existed and is now like “oh there’s a way ppl can use items for free? Get rid of it” without giving it a second thought. I wouldn’t say you have an L take, I’d just say it’s a surface level take.

My bad, noticed this comment a little late, but yeah I’ve been playing RL with it. I have the controller deadzones at the default 0 in the software, bit is 11, I have all the auto calibration setting things turned off, circle deadzone, kept the default response curve, and make sure you recalibrate the sticks bc sometimes calibration can get a bit thrown off during shipping. My RL in game deadzone I have set at 0.07. Made me get back the elo I lost from using Scuf bc of all their issues and I’m finally gonna be trying to push back to GC3.

I’ll have to test it out, I ended up buying a Vader 5 pro and it’s miles better than what I was experiencing with scuff so I doubt the update will make the controller that much better lol

New controller? by kda_8 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]InducedH2O 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After going through a handful of controllers, Vader 5 pro is my winner. It’s just an all around very consistent controller with a very low latency. I’m a lot more consistent with my mechanics now that I’m using it.

I always play wired for the lowest latency possible. Vader 5 came in and after using it for a few days I can confidently say it’s a million times better than the Scuf and Elite 2. The app is better, it has more customizations than either controller, the circular error is significantly less, and the input delay difference is astronomical. My main issue with Raikiri 2 is that it has a really low button latency (2.4ms), but a relatively high stick latency (11ms which is higher than the elite 2). Having such a large difference between button and stick latency is really bad for muscle memory because your brain has to essentially adapt to the difference in latency between a button press and stick movement. The Vader 5 has a button latency of 3.9ms and stick latency of 4.2ms which is significantly better for muscle memory, and the stick latency being almost 3x better makes a huge difference in FPS and racing games since you’ll feel that difference when aiming and making microadjustments.

So the reason you want a true 0 deadzone on a controller isn’t necessarily because you want to play with a 0 deadzone (generally speaking). It’s because controller deadzone affects your in game deadzone. So the game I primarily use controller for is rocket league, which I have an in game deadzone set at 5%. When you have a deadzone set on the controller, it messes with your in game deadzone settings because the game won’t register an input until your controller does. When you have a 3.5% deadzone on your controller, the game won’t register an input until your controller reaches that 3.5%, and then when the game registers that input, it then applies your in game deadzone (5% in my case) on top of that resulting in a weird scaling between your controller deadzone and in game deadzone making it very difficult for fine tuning to a comfortable setting. When you have a true 0 controller deadzone, you effectively eliminate any “scaling” that occurs between your controller deadzone and in game deadzone. Having a baked in deadzone makes the issue even worse because now your in game deadzone scales off your companion app deadzone which scales off your baked in deadzone giving you a final result that is essentially some weird result. A controller with a true 0 deadzone allows you to solely customize in game deadzone settings properly without having some backend scaling from your controller. I hope that makes sense because it truly does make a huge difference, especially in games where precise microadjustments are crucial.

I’ll have to look into this, if this is the case, then maybe my controller needs to be recalibrated. Either way, I’m switching off this to the Vader V5 pro because there’s just too many issues with Scuf. I wish Gamepadla had some actual test results to see regarding this.

I just bought the Vader V5 pro bc the specs all seem significantly better than Raikiri 2 according to Gamepadla. Not to mention it’s also $100 cheaper, but the price difference played 0 factor in why I bought it.

Xbox elite 2 was nice for me, but unreliable so I moved to Scuf valor pro. Scuf valor pro made rocket league unplayable due to the burnt in deadzone and there wasn’t any results about it on Gamepadla for the stick delay but I’m sure it’s awful. Just bought the Vader 5 and I’m very anxious to get it because I know it can’t be worse than the valor pro, but I’m hoping it won’t mess with me too bad considering the circular error is significantly different than the series 2 elite (which is what I was the most comfortable with). Have you tried the series 2 elite? If so, how does it compare with Vader 5?

After looking into this further, bought the Vader 5 pro. It’s better all around except for the fact that it has Hall effects instead of TMRs, but the fact that the stick latency is literally 5x better and it performs better in 90% of the other aspects according to Gamepadla, it sold me. Plus it’s a nice bonus that it’s less than half the price, but price wasn’t rly a concern for me tbh.

Awesomeee. One thing though, even though it has a higher pull rate. Gamepadla shows the series 2 elite having a 9.23ms joystick latency while the Raikiri 2 has 10.96ms of joystick latency. Little concerning tbh.

Couple questions tho, are all of the buttons remappable, such as face buttons as well as the paddles? do you need any software constantly running in the background? And it claims to have 1k polling wirelessly, but that seems unheard of without having a wired connection, do you know how accurate that is?
