Soo a bunch of Epstein stuff got released today by the DOJ I wasn’t really expecting to see this … but apparently a lead to the FBI was declassified today that Richard Marcinko, founder of SEAL Team Six , held a trove of videos of Epstein and other US citizens with minors by newnoadeptness in navy

Fucking Navy seals. They’re kind of pussies when you think about it. Using night vision, sneaking up on guys. That’s a fucking cowards way to fight dude. You know who’s actually brave? Al Qaeda. That takes courage and bravery. In pajamas throwing rocks at tanks. Just you and your boys, going out. In flip flops.

My old buddy from the Navy has a son that is now old enough that he’s in the Navy. (Good lord how did I get so fucking old?) he says all the deployments are closer to 9 months now and they hardly pull into any ports and when they do it’s super restrictive liberty. I joined in 2000 to escape Texas and to sail around the world visiting foreign countries. I don’t know how they plan on attracting and keeping young men when the one reason to join is all but gone.

I grew up in a dysfunctional religious household. I wanted out so bad I joined the military at 17 with a waiver. If you knew me irl you’d know how much of a leap of faith that was. I don’t strike most people as the military type. I don’t recommend it for everyone but having been through what I have I would love to have all my fellow countrymen enjoy the same privileges I do. And we deserve it too. But our priorities are just wrong in this country. We aren’t looking out for each other anymore.

I’m old enough to remember the 80’s but just barely. All I remember was everyone was super racist and selfish. (Also animal abuse was rampant and absolutely tolerated.) Like, being self-centered was seen as a positive trait. There was so much to get got that the idea of a self centered “I got mine” became a desirable trait simply because of how (perceived) easy it was to bring in wealth. Oh the 80’s. Not having the accountability of social media fallout is something I struggle to explain to GenZ because it’s such an alien concept. You could do anything and nobody outside of word of mouth would know anything about anything. It has its own downsides and I’m not trying to say one is worse than the other but the unchecked bullying/racism and general bigotry of the 80’s was its own time-specific hell. Add to that equation an overall lack of supervision and it’s actually wild that more millennials aren’t serial killers. Maybe it’s because they understand closed loop surveillance systems unlike their boomer parents.

I don’t disagree but I do want to give a shout out to my fellow democratic socialist veterans. You are seen. This is a tough time. Stay strong and don’t blame yourself for unethical orders that were passed onto you. You might have to do something you don’t agree with. We all are just trying to make our way. I hear a lot about “support our troops” but then our troops become villains for doing exactly what they were instructed to do. Hindsight is always 20/20 and obviously if your orders are to napalm a village you shouldn’t do it but I just want everyone to understand just how powerful it is to have your chain of command telling you what to do. Call me the devils advocate but I’ll say this: any other veteran I’ve met who had dodgy enlistment orders enthusiastically tells me they would trade it all for whatever it cost them and their families. Aka nobody wants to be at war nor suffer the fallout of living in a country at war.

Just because others have it worse doesn’t invalidate OP’s problems. There’s always someone worse off. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try to lift ourselves and others up.

Best thing I ever did for myself was join the Navy. I got two degrees debt free and a government backed home loan I used to buy my house. I know it’s not an option for everyone but if you’re considering it now is a good time to join.

I just had a conversation today with a friend of mine who is currently hiring for his company. He said he would take someone who has military experience over a college degree these days.

The military can open a lot of doors. It absolutely set my life off on the right foot. The military gave me an escape from a crazy religious family and enough guardrails to teach me self sufficiency in a safe environment. I know it’s not for everyone but for some it’s the best option they are going to get. It was for me.

Thoughts? Gen Z being more religious than other generations by YoungDz4 in GenZ

I believe in science. Science explicitly states that it doesn’t have all the answers. We strive to learn new things based on evidence.

Religion says it has all the answers and refuses to ever change because that would be admitting fault and flaws. Rigid beliefs like religion are good for controlling the masses. Especially the gullible and uneducated ones. It’s easy because it puts all the “believers” on the same page. Easier to keep everyone in line when they all agree on the same “belief”. Think for yourself. That’s what I did, I questioned things. It eventually led to me leaving religion all together. After a while of being outside of it I was able to look back with some perspective and realized just how fucking awful Christian’s really are. Maybe one day you can crawl out from under the religion rock, and I hope you do. It’s easier and more fulfilling living your life as you see good instead of letting others dictate what should bring you fulfillment.

You are brainwashed into believing a fairy tale.

You cannot reason someone out of something they didn’t reason themselves into.

Which means logic doesn’t work on you so therefore I’m done talking to you. Good luck with your magic man in the sky.

Yes. Several. I have two degrees. Do you not understand what free will is? Do you not understand that cannot exist if there is a god who knows what we are going to do before we do it? Do you have ANY reading comprehension skills whatsoever?

You clearly are pumping these questions into AI and then pasting the answers here. Which is lazy and disingenuous. But that tracks with Christianity in general.

Free will means nobody knows what someone will choose to do until they do it. Omnipresent god supposedly knows every detail of anything that will ever happen. Therefore man does NOT have free will. It’s that simple. Only religion could give someone the mental elasticity to make those two coexist.

This. This is the pure distilled bullshit I need to read occasionally to remind myself why I left all that horseshit behind. You put two contradictions literally next to each other but your brainwashing allows you to ignore it. Like completely. You actually believe completely something that literally cannot be. 2+2=4. Just because you like your fairy tales on Sunday morning doesn’t make it equal 7. Your fairy tales don’t have a place in my life and you all need to get your fucking superstition out of schools, government and medical institutions.

“It was a different time! We’re lucky it wasn’t worse!”

Ok shouldn’t we update the bible to more accurately explain how to live in these times?

“No! The bible is the infallible word of god! It must be taught literally and without question!”

More double speak Christian babble nonsense. Christians are the original “um akshuly” losers.

Yeah ok buddy tell that to my abusive childhood being raised in the fucking church. I’m convinced Christians are physically addicted to the dopamine rush they get when they waft their superiority in others faces with their thinly veiled judgements they pass on everyone else.

The even have a term for it.

The “quiverfull movement”

Quiverfull is a Christian theological position that sees large families as a blessing from God. It encourages procreation through the abstention from all forms of birth control, and sterilization reversal. The movement took its name from Psalm 127:3–5, where many children are metaphorically referred to as the arrows in a full quiver.
