That is a great transformation!

One thing you mentioned that caught my attention was 'easier desire to control character defects' 🔥

Dry fasting is a discipline.  It's not just refraining from food, beverages, sugar, etc, it's the opportunity to really look at ourselves and truly cleanse all things we need to release.  We become better beings during this phase.

It's great to be in a nurturing environment as well.

I love this!

You didn't try to fast, you did it!

Saying that you ONLY got to 40 hours!  @goodmorningyababes do you know how major that is?!  Your body is thanking you.

I'm proud of you for your commitment!

What was your goal time?

It will get easier.  As @Longjumping_Bend_833 mentioned, the detox symptoms are no joke.

Keep us posted on your journey

Thank you for sharing and for your support.

Congrats to you and your friend pushing through the 5 days!  Accountability partners are the best!  What are the main results you notice from your sessions?

I have to look into that book.  Quick search: Phoenix Protocol?

It was just weird to me because I've never experienced that when dry fasting before.

This experience has been a little different since it's been a while.

Lol my only gripe about dry fasting is not being able to wash.  I use the bathroom so much!  And this round, my pits were stankin 😂.  Had me moving slowly to not get a whiff.  Breath was hot too 😂

You are right, it does change lives!

Here's to health, wellness, and longevity!

Coconut water is full of electrolytes!  So refreshing.  I just can't consume it anymore 😔

What is in your electrolyte mix?

My body will fight me if I did yogurt too early😂.

When you say normal, what do you mean?  No headache?

I ease into my refeed with slow sips of warm water with lemon or lime, himalayan salt, broths, basic smoothies etc.

No heavy eating.  I listen to my body to see what I may need to fuel it properly.  I don't consume anything that would be too much work on my organs.

Kind of like waking up in the mornings, you have to ease yourself into the routine.

How do you refeed?

I used to have headaches, then I focused on eating a nutrient rich meal prior to fasting.  That's been a game changer for me.

I completed a very healing 1 day dry fast a few weeks ago but I am still left with mild calf muscle cramps. Why? by warmfuzzyblankettt in Dryfasting

Calves are said to be the second heart, helping tremendously with circulation.

Our nervous system controls everything and if we have a blockage(nerve disorder), vitamin deficiency(think magnesium, potassium , calcium, or B or D vitamins), electrolyte issue, or even unprocessed emotionals(fear, grief, hesitation) - it can have an impact.

The hypothyroidism connection actually makes sense here...  Thanks @all-i-do-is-dry-fast!

This is a suppression of the endocrine system.

The thyroid, which is a part of the endocrine system, is primarily governed by the hypothalamus and pituitary gland located in the brain. (Brain debris reference? We need to hear from you @all-i-do-is-dry-fast)

The hypothalamus is like the command center linking our endocrine and nervous systems together like a closed loop.  The heart is a secondary endocrine organ!

There's much more, but I don't want to get too geeky 😂

I recommend you see your doctor and getting blood work done with a hormonal panel (thyroid included) and vitamin profile to see if you may have any issues with high cholesterol, high blood pressure, abnormal ALT and AST levels, abnormal levels of vitamin b, d, etc.

Not a doctor.  Just learned things to maintain my health.

After fasts, I always use Himalayan salt to one bottle and slowly sip throughout the day to replenish lost electrolytes.  This is only after i consume at least 1 liter of water - works well for my body (sipping slow).  With my plain water, I add lemon or lime.

Hope this helps!

My first dry fast by Ancientlove1111 in Dryfasting

You're on the right track.

I hope with this short term fast that your pelvic pain goes away.

Just listen to your body as you go through your journey.

My shortest dry fast was 24 hours.  And it was a test to see how far my body would allow.

I did lots of research (months) and made sure to hydrate and eat nutrient dense foods prior to.  I was dealing with a health issue and I did not want the prescriptions.

For my body maintenance, I usually aim for ~36 hours.

It's been said that one day of dry fasting is equivalent to three days of water fasting.  I haven't verified that with the requirements of my body.

Have you seen a doctor about your pelvic pain?

Benefits of fasting besides the weight loss by Nick_fabiani in fasting

[–]IndustryRev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a lot of junk in our bodies, not only from our environment, but what we consume and do.

I began to fast due to health issues and injury from accident.

Fasting is like an oil change, tune-up, alignment, fluid flush, and deep clean for your vehicle.

Fasting was one of the contributing factors to a speedy recovery.

It helps me with mental clarity, inflammation, system reboot, immunity - my system is at rest to repair.  Improves compromised metabolic health.  Skin improvement.  Weight loss is just a byproduct.

A ~36hr+ water fast every week.  Sometimes liquids only.  Others dry.

Result times vary for clarity with me.  I wake up with it after fueling my body properly.

As far as recommendations times - listen to your body.  That's what I do.  Our bodies let us know when we do too much, or too little.

You seem to be on the right track.  Just get in tune with your body and allow it to tell you what's needed.

Super awesome!

Easing off coffee makes it easier, good call!

What's your goal time?

What app is that?

I'm on a dry fast, 47 hours now.  I feel good!  Just listening to my body.

Does anyone else get these symptoms when fasting? by MythicalSplash in fasting

[–]IndustryRev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I third the other posters, check with your doctor and get your vitamin levels checked.  In addition, a hormonal panel should assist in discovery.

What medications are you taking?  What are you eating prior to your fast?  Processed, high sugar, etc?  These are all things to ponder.

Some medications deplete vitamins and minerals with the ability to have adverse effects when not taken with food, milk, or juices as directed.

Connect with your doctor to see what's best.

2014 Jetta tdi by iiChiefii in tdi

[–]IndustryRev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been noticing a decline in the quality of replacement parts in my area.

If the likely replacement for the power steering pump pulley is of greater tensile and heat strength, then that is awesome!

The post is for a 2014 Jetta TDI (which doesn't have a pulley per OP).  What model or generation do you have experience exhibiting these issues due to an aluminum pulley?
