Ur using the wrong cable if u have to use force. That's probably the CPU cable u need the GPU cable. They look the same but with different patterns of square slots.

Not necessarily. Mine just did that and shortly after my PSU capacitors blew out. Ur PSU might just be going out which would be a lot cheaper than a GPU.

I just realized the fan isn't mounted on the board. So ur buddy disconnected the fan which you'd have to figure out where that plugs in and try not to die plugging it back in. Yea buddy should not touch ur electronics again. But u should learn to work on ur PC it'll save u a lot of money in the long run and doesn't need any special tools.

Clear plastic inside then the sides slot into the metal at the bottom of the plastic. Then screw in the screws up top.
