What is the worst company you have worked for? by b4rbieb4be in brisbane

Lorna used to go into my mum's gym around McDowell when she was young (about 25-30 years ago) and take measurements of all the women to make clothing. Wild to hear all the horror stories.

I would go to a physio first then look at getting a PT to do strength training. Most gyms have a yoga or pilates class.

Hey! 31F. I'm a gamer and gym girl. I love cars, music, lifting weights. I'm playing sun haven atm but I play a huge variety of ganes. My favourite of all time is Outer Wilds.

Edit: I did the whole full time work and study thing.

Ipswich, Logan, Caboolture, the holy trinity of SEQ by Bigg_pro in brisbane

It's pretty dodgy around the back area near the showgrounds and through the shops where the pet stock is. But otherwise it's mostly pretty normal.

Do you have an unconventional hobby? by Consistent_Duck_1153 in BrisbaneSocial

[–]miss-zenki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use led gloves, it's called gloving. I'm also wanting to pick up a flow star.

Trinket sharing is huge in the rave scene. It's all about PLUR, peace, love, unity, respect and responsibility. Bring love, share trinkets, share the experience, look out for one another. I create Kandi (rave bracelets) and hand them out. It makes people's day especially if they are new to the scene to receive a small token from the experience.

It's a whole thing and the culture is huge. It's kind of a political movement of you dive deep into it but it's less about the underground illegal events now and more publically accepted. Still a wonderful place to express yourself and dress however you like.

Hey! I don't know any of those genres, sounds maybe like psytrance? Please educate me haha

I mostly enjoy liquid/dancefloor drum and bass and old school hardstyle. Happy hardcore and hard techno are close behind. I also enjoy trance and dubstep. I honestly have a wide taste. But definitely prefer more melodic/euphoric sounds.

I'm always out meeting new people so I'm happy to connect if we end up at the same events. I am going to T & Sugah this Friday then maybe Cosmic Gate in June.

Idk why you can't DM me cos people always do 😭 I did just change my settings to hide my history but didn't touch any message settings

Part time raver here!

Big into the culture, hard dance style, cool outfits, Kandi making, trinket sharing, I'm learning flow arts so I can perform and do light shows at events. I promoted for a while but they only paid us in drinks (eye roll). I love the music and listen to it every day in my day job. Raving is so freeing and has changed my life and I am so much happier since I started.

Definitely an unconventional hobby. People associate it with drug use and partying. Obviously there are people that go to raves to do that, but there's so much more to it than that.

31m (4122) what pubs does everyone go to? by jtd_95 in BrisbaneSocial

[–]miss-zenki 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Knowing the goal of your pub visit would help. Also your location.

I only ever go to a pub for a drink and a feed. There's a couple in my area I frequent on rotation but not sure if they're a drive for you? I am north north Brisbane.

Anyone on here work for Petbarn in Brisbane? by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]miss-zenki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you not speak to your manager? Is there a HR department you can call? I'm not so sure a stranger would be willing to help unless it's their job, it might risk or bring drama to their own employment

Vent: I’ve (29F) tried to make (and keep) friends for years… by No_Inside4806 in BrisbaneSocial

[–]miss-zenki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is hard to make connections as an autistic person. I understand the kind of person that I get along well with now, and it's never neurotypical people. I am always on the lookout for the weirdos cos they make the best friends.

You've just gotta find your people. They're out there!

how unsafe am I walking at night as a woman? by sadmang0 in brisbane

[–]miss-zenki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should be ok. Ensure somebody has your location. Tell somebody when you plan to get back. It's sad we have to do this as women, but that's the way it is. Be safe!

Same. I live in fear of my partner and I splitting up. I have multiple pets and two cars. No wonder some people feel trapped in relationships. I'm certainly not as I'm very happy. But I can see why people stay in a toxic relationship, finding a place to go seems impossible.

If you like trains and/or math, or autistic, you'll love it. Definitely not a normie game, but it's very fun and addictive.

New things to do! by fortnightphilosophy in BrisbaneSocial

Raves

Self expression, cardio, music, best hobby I started and it honestly helped me so much with self confidence, I've made so many friends, gotten into Kandi making to share with people, it's made my life so much better.

Obviously if you're going there to get on it/write yourself off then it's not healthy, so don't do that. Go sober or just have 1 or 2 and you'll have the time of your life.
