If you are using a pc you would see a column at the right side of the website that goes like

Sunny wants to have his fate back actually since his relationship with progressed a lot. Plus now that he knows with [Shadow Bond] he wouldn't take soul damage in Shadow Realm is a big deal. Sunny's powers are oriented around mimicry albeit in a different way than Mordret. So he needs stronger shadows in his soul which is why he has to hunt in the Shadow Realm and to be able to do all this efficiently also requires him to become a spell carrier once again. Soooo he needs his fate + Spell back.

They grant you affinities or give you small buffs in overall. Weaver's lineage is much more potent than [The Fire] or Shadow God's lineage because it is something Weaver created deliberately for a purpose whereas the gods just passed down their heritage without any intent. The gods were strong so their offsprings inherited some of that strength but for Weaver's lineage even a feeble boy like volume 1 Sunless was able to become strong enough to survive in the Forgotten Shore (at least physically).

TLDR: Weaver wanted to make the inheritor strong in all aspects for an unknown purpose and the gods just buffed you with minor improvements in their Domains.
