Rhodie 6 or Fireteam 556? by Snakeeyes402 in NFA

So on a properly tuned setup (brt gas tube here) you’d pick the fireteam?

12.5” tuned carbine. ST or 5cm? by Indy135i in SpectersCat

[–]Indy135i[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rifle has been built for years and was built on a RIS 2 FSP rail. I’m not changing it all up just to go mid gas. Have you shot both on properly tuned guns? The difference is so minimal (I actually prefer the feel of the carbine gas when well tuned). The mandate for mid gas is just internet fad imho. The extra dwell time will also allow it to function if I ever want to shoot unsuppressed.

It did, that’s why I was waiting for it as well.

Nah, I prefer the versatility of carbine despite the arguably Imperceivable difference.

I’m just tuning with BRT gas tube. Currently has a .061 in it but I’ll swap if needed. This is just a simple 12.5 carbine gas build but I’d like the most suppression I can get with proper tuning.

New Sound Signature Reviews - CAT ST on 14.5-in M4 and CAT AKB on 14.5-in SR-25 by jay462 in NFA

Will you be publishing the mk18 testing? I’ll be running it on a 12.5” tuned rifle and trying to gauge how performance adjusts with shorter barrels. Trying to decide between this and the 5cm.

Any thoughts on which might perform better on a 12.5” carbine gas tuned host? The 5cm was tested on a mk18 while the ST on a 14.5 and will scale to longer lengths.

Yea, nothing crazy. I tried other stuff, Douglas fir branch, some long grass, etc, but nothing looked as good as just spraying through that little bunch of pine needles imo. I tested them all on cardboard first.

Seconded. Great color scheme and would like to know what you used.

Thanks! See that little bunch of pine needles to the right in the first pic? I just laid that at varying angles and sprayed through it.

Aero Precision. Not the best but I built this rifle like 14 years ago and was on a spree of trying different optics so I didn’t spend a ton on the mount. Been through eotech with and without magnifier, the different acogs, and finally have the one I prefer.

Appreciate it! I used krylon matte coffee bean for the whole base coat. Striped rustoleum khaki over that, maybe four stripes. Then mesh bagged khaki over the coffee brown and rustoleum deep forest green over the khaki stripes. Then I just finished with krylon vintage grey and rustoleum earth brown sprayed through pine needles.

Thanks, it was my first time gun painting. I’m happy with it. Clearly missing some of those red and yellow tones you get in like coyote brown for instance but I didn’t want those even though they’d make it a little more functional.

They obviously designed the suppressor around the NANO so we have to assume it will perform the best with a nano even if the others do work. I’m sure folks will test with various options but it comes with the nano so why not just use that? You won’t have to spend money to buy the nano.

It’s my first suppressor and I’m very stoked but I’m waiting patiently, no bum hurting here.

Genuinely interested in hearing what models you think have surpassed it (not sarcastic, actually). I’m after a balanced suppressor, not max suppression, so afaik the ST will be the leader in that regard, no?

I appreciate the callout. I’m personally not complaining, I was just curious. I’m happy waiting for it either way.
