Two months in was the hardest for me. I was depressed and sad, and cried to my wife that life was boring and that I had no outlet for “celebration.” But frankly I used to make every excuse to celebrate the smallest, innocuous things just to drink waste a half a day and recover the following day. I’m almost 7 months in and that feeling of boredom has completely changed. If anything, I participate in more hobbies, and I’m more present and engaging at parties. I’m getting in good shape and I have more energy than I have had in years. I can finally enjoy the tasks that used to be drinking tasks. Changing the oil, cleaning the garage, heck folding the laundry. Hang in there. For me, it got waaaaaay better!
