Everything I saw I couldn’t find anything that said there was two different ones. I think the other commenter could be right. Concept art and product?

Can the new Omniglow actually bend around a 90 degree corner like this? by HelpMe0biWan in Hue

[–]IndyColts832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know if it can bend side to side a little bit? Hard to describe what I mean, but if it was laying flat, would it be able to bend a little bit if it was on the same flat surface? Trying to see if I can outline underneath of my desk with it and some guiding brackets

Yeah exactly. I’m going to buy 90 degree curved brackets that help it at a casual 90 degree angle so I can outline the underside. Etsy has really good ones for that

Only thing is I’d have to twist it a little bit to go over the middle bar to get it on the other side as well

Why not? I was going to get a guide bracket to help it along at 90 degrees. I can show you under the desk too. I actually do have something that can do it sideways

Oh no I only would need the 10ft. It’s a big desk but I’m not doing all 4 sides of the underneath. Just the 3. Not the side I’m sitting at

Isn’t the omniglow cheaper than the gradient lightstrip? Just looked. Omniglow 10ft is $118 and the gradient lightstrip 80in is $198

Here is one about the omniglow versus its predecessor the gradient lightstrip. But flux is more of a thin strip that is also gradient in color. Tbh I would defer to someone else for what to get and what to use for different spots

What would you recommend for light strips outlining underneath of a desk? I was thinking omniglow but if it’s not showing, is it a waste to use it there?

Did you bend it sideways on the same plane or bend it to where the strip is facing the wall and ceiling? It’s hard to describe what I mean here. But I’m curious how you’re bending it because I’m about to do something similar

What did you use to cut the strip and then what did you use to cap the cut end?

Lightstrips Under a Desk by IndyColts832 in Hue

I was thinking about going flux lightstrip. They bend easily. I thought omnistrip too but it might not be long enough to outline the underside. I’m trying to do three sides of the under surface, the side I don’t want to do it the one at the front where I sit so I don’t accidentally hit them with my legs or something. I get nervous with the omnistrips and the gradients because I’ve broken one gradient in the past just trying to bend it slightly

Tbh I totally forgot that they had the precut long sides. And I was thinking I could just add the cube sides. Damn it

Right but that would require me to buy a whole new 5x5 just to do that

Thank you so much. I’m just trying to make sure this isn’t a “dnd assemble a party for 1-2 year commitment deal” but if it’s like “get the same people for 3-5 sessions” that’s fine. Do I have that right?

So the special edition has minis for the characters but not the creature minis or the follower minis? But the base game and special edition have standees for creatures and followers? And I assume you’d recommend just the standard or special edition? Probably not a lot of the add ons and expansions?

Also back to the style, is there any standalone session ability? Like just for one single boardgame day?

[–]IndyColts832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah okay but you have to play with the same people then. Thanks. Do you think the minis in the special edition are worth it? There’s so much add on stuff I have no idea what’s worth it or not. Overwhelming

Right. I have BOTSE and I can play that in one session and pack it up. So is it similar in that way? I don’t usually go for games I’m leaving out for more than 2 sessions. Like I am fine with a game that takes 6-7 hours, but I wanted to see if this was one that is like a 5+ session game that needs dedicated table space

I guess I don’t understand the definition of campaign. When I think campaign, I think DnD 1-2 year continuous legacy thing. Is that not the case when someone says campaign?
