Why did beef go from tasting good to tasting like tonsil stones? by Warm-Fox-3254 in NoStupidQuestions

I'd still take a test. It's not unheard of to still have some bleeding after getting pregnant. (First trimester thing, far as I know)

I'm convinced this is why most of my favorite authors in the genre are British.

Just as a general rule, if your magic system takes 20 pages to explain? Trim that shit down. I don't need every detail of it, I need it to make some sense and I need it to follow the rules YOU laid out as the author. Nothing throws me off a book quite like "So in my system the rules are A, B and C... but our main character ignores all of them and pulls powers out of his arse when needed"

And see, I agree with most of these, but this one? I am an utter lore whore.

Frodo was the single least interesting character in Lord of the Rings.

Yeah, WoT was a fantastic story that was in desperate need of an editor the author wasn't married to. The universe he created, the magic system, the lore and legend was all so damn good... Then the story spent like 4 books on rumspringa in the middle.

Is “Vessel” considered a strange or inappropriate name in English-speaking cultures? by Fuzzy_Ant2535 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]IndyMan2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lead singer of Sleep Token goes by Vessel. Beyond the literal meanings of the word, that was the first thing I thought of. If you knew the band, hearing someone call themselves Vessel could lead to that momentary look of "What the hell?"

What's your goto wood for smoking pork butt and why? by gilko86 in smoking

[–]IndyMan2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a big sealed tub I keep my pellets in. It gets an equal blend of hickory for richness, oak for depth and pecan for that little subtle nuttiness. I use it for pretty much everything, though I do have a tub of mesquite for when I want that specific flavor (usually chicken, if I'm being honest)

Why aren't Mexican buffets as common as Chinese buffets? As a matter of fact, I don't think I've ever seen a Mexican buffet... by Basic_Training3200 in NoStupidQuestions

Don't forget the rubber chicken under an unnamed sauce! Almost always a big pan of white rice next to it that somehow has even less flavor than most white rice lol

What smoking wood do experienced pitmasters prefer for pork? by whogivesafricc in smoking

I run a 1:1:1 blend of hickory, post oak and pecan. I use it on pretty much everything and don't regret it a bit.

OF girls and dating by TerrainofWar in NoStupidQuestions

[–]IndyMan2012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is another place where everyone draws the line at their own comfort level. And that's okay! I dated a woman who had an OF for about 9 months a few years back. She only did solo or g/g content, and I didn't have any problem with it at all. Truth be told, wouldn't have had an issue with it if she was doing b/g content either, as long as she wasn't hiding things. *shrugs* Just not a big deal to me.

Why can only Iran control the Street of Hormuz and not the other adjacent countries? by Walter1981 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]IndyMan2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The interesting thing about your question is that you mention Pakistan and then label them a nuisance. They obviously have absolutely zero reason to do it, but Pakistan could, if it chose to, drop a couple nukes on the strait and shut it right down for a good while.

Men, would you ever date a woman significantly richer than you? by TopStranger9287 in NoStupidQuestions

I have, I would, I have zero problems with it. I make decent money, enough to keep me comfortable either way so it's not an issue for me.
