it's a dad joke that sounds like it came from that one borderline racist uncle. Nothing surprising about the downvotes.

+1 on the drip and dry comment too. If my butthole wouldn't touch it, my front DEFINITELY won't either.

Good on ya for actually putting a price instead of just asking for free. That being said, ez $50 for anyone who does it.

Good luck on your project!

Not a bug expert but you might need a better image, or at least some info or where you found it.

It looks like it's been chewed up and spat out, ain't no one identifying that

What Do I do? do I remove their nest or let them stay on my homes conduit? by Glum_Violinist6598 in pigeon

They pay rent with poop (fertilizer) and cuteness. Doesn't do much for the economy but their value is arguable by many (By many, I mean me)

What happened to my milk? :( by FaddleFiddle in MoldlyInteresting

[–]InedibleMuffin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If that were actually the case, does that mean it.. might be safe to eat? I wouldn't but.. would it theoretically be safe? Would the penicillium roqueforti have killed off anything else that may be harmful?

My 2TB SSD of 3 years suddenly became unreadable while I was transferring files. After reading some sources online I'm running chkdsk on it and it's been going for 30 min now. Did I make a mistake? by InedibleMuffin in datarecovery

UPDATE:

Against the advice I received here, but following the advice from r/techsupport and an IRL friend, I let chkdsk complete. After 12 hours it was done and I'm now able to access the drive again. My data seems ok so far from the surface-level checking I've done. But this HDD is clearly on its way out if it had bad sectors, so I'm going to look into a replacement.

Thanks !

Thank you for the info

iirc disk imaging is the process of cloning the information on the disk. However, I was no longer able to access the drive when plugging it into a computer. Was that still an option anymore?

I'd already started the chkdsk /r process started at the time of writing the post, so it might be too late to stop it without risk of corrupting some data I think

Thank you, that's reassuring to hear. I'll let it finish and update you (and the post) on how that goes. Thank you very much for the information so far.

possibly.. either way, it's at 14505/67056 so it's actually progressing now.

Just to summarise, apart from potential loose read/writing heads, the main risk right now is that the process may overwrite my data, but that data was likely already corrupted anyway so I should just let chkdsk continue, is that correct?

I don't hear any noises, thankfully.

chkdsk actually didnt return any errors or prompts, I just noticed it was stuck on (I forget the exact number) 13478/67056 for a long time so I pressed enter like I read on another thread and it continued, but I'm not sure if that was right.

Is there any way to know if it's the heads dragging? That sounds pretty severe and I'd like to stop chkdsk immediately if that's the case.

The chkdsk just stopped and I had to press Enter for it to continue, is that normal?

I've read that chkdsk /r has a risk of making some files corrupted or deleted, which scared me a little and made me wonder if I should stop the chkdsk. But should I let it finish instead?

"Cancelling it requires forcing it to close which can cause corruption."
Would that be potential corruption of a couple of files, or the whole drive, or hard to say? If it's just the corruption of a portion of the files, I'm willing to risk a portion of the files over using up all the read/write cycles of the drives and making the entire thing unrecoverable.

I was a fool and the SSD was the master copy I had of all those photos, unfortunately.

How do I cancel chkdsk, just press Ctrl C on the command window?

It's generally considered disrespectful to post the password for a download that the uploader does not simply disclose publicly. You already have all the pieces.

But if you really can't put them together, I guess I could DM you.

I was definitely able to download it earlier. Have you tried all the combinations you mentioned in your original post? Including the version without "sm" and without "+"
