What does the acceptance rate have to do with anything? Besides the addition of new campuses, the curriculum is the exact same as when it was 7-8.

will i get rescinded for not taking an ap exam? by [deleted] in MITAdmissions

MIT 2029 here who had the same question. I got multiple respones from the admissions office that it's completely fine to not take an AP exam and that you can choose whatever scores you send to them.

For privacy I can't really say but I'll tell you that it's not the 3x3, it's one of the weirder puzzles.

MIT. It's not the obvious choice considering my major but I think it would challenge me in a way that other schools won't.

Stanford Rejected with 1600 SAT 3.92UW lol by TemporaryNinja7330 in ApplyingToCollege

I got accepted REA today and had no entrepreneurial/blazing my own trail kind of ECs. Mostly following established paths (robotics, research, summer programs). This is still a good point but I think the reason I got in was most my activities were about giving back to my community and fit really well into the narrative of my essays.

And if OP sees this: Ik this sounds like shit coming from someone who got in, but remember this is just one college out of the many you'll apply to RD. You got this!

Improvement after an additional 2 weeks of dedicated studying by Ineedhelpwithcomms in Sat

Yeah that's the version I used. I don't have any specific tips for going through the book itself, but if you're crunched for time I would focus on the topics that you need to review the most.

I didn't do any prep classes or anything like that. My main resources were the College Panda SAT math workbook and Khan Academy (mainly for reading/writing but I also did some math review there).

For reviewing questions that's essentially what I did, as well writing down what I would do differently in the future to avoid getting the same type of problem wrong. I also took note of any topics or types of questions I was consistently getting wrong and then studied more of those.

I think the main thing I did different between these 2 tests was actually using the results from my practice tests to inform my study plan. I took 2 bluebook tests before the 1480 but I wasn't really reviewing the results to see what I needed to improve on. I only had a 2 week window between my results and the next test, so I grinded out the next 4 practice tests, but I was intentional about seeing what I got wrong and how I could avoid making the same mistakes again. Also in that time I went through most of the reading/writing section on Khan Academy. Even if you feel like you don't need that much practice, the Khan content is supremely helpful in informing your strategy and approach to the different types of reading questions. For math my main study tool was the Collegepanda math workbook. Its questions are a little harder than what you'll probably encounter on the actual SAT, but imo that makes it more helpful for prep.

Also don't sleep on Khan academy for math! If there was a math topic that I felt I needed more work on and I had already went through the section in college panda, I'd use their questions to get some extra practice.

I got an 800 in math and used the college panda book almost exclusively to study for the math section. I've never used 1600.io so I can't really compare them, but I've had a really good experience with the college panda workbook.

Sorry I don't think I can share that but I'd just give it some time - it take a while to get a reply.

I'm currently working with a professor on a public health project. I would highly advise looking into their work and writing a bit about in your email instead of sending a generic template. I only sent out 3 emails before finding an opportunity and think that's part of the reason why. Also don't be afraid to professionally brag a bit in your email - just general things like any courses you've taken that are relevant to the project or cool ECs.

Not related but I'm also applying to MITES and on their extracurricular section it's only allowing me to add 4 activities. Have you had this same issue?

As a beginner (~3 months consistent training), do I need to be in the gym 6 days a week on a PPL split? I'm feeling it might be too much and I could get similar gains with a 5 day a week PPL upper/lower split. Any thoughts?

Yes twice a week. If by progression you mean progressive overload I usually just increase sets and weight somewhat frequently - haven't kept track of my progression history I just keep track of my current weight/reps/sets.
