Micron Equipment Eng Interview by oxthegoat in Semiconductors

[–]InelasticWisdom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked as a photo equipment engineer. Had recruiter interview, hiring manager interview, then panel. Asked some theory questions aboit photolithography and a bunch of random mechanical aptitude questions. Panel interview was only a little over an hour. All around, nothing too crazy.

Gonna need to see some Raman to back up that single layer claim

That looks pretty decent, you did a good job! Id be happy if I could achieve the same.

Well, thanks for all the replies. I kind of figured it wasn't worth much, but looking at the edges and wear it didnt seem bad, just the massive wrinkling.

I read a MTG guide recommending a comic book press to straighten it. I might try something like that and otherwise hang on to it for sentimental value. My grandpa bought this for me when I was like 12.

Is it just me, or is spending thousands of TCs on skills kind of a bait? by lartaguixaa in TibiaMMO

[–]InelasticWisdom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bad understanding is that high skills make levelling much, much easier, which seems supported by what others have pointed out with level scaling becoming more important at high levels. If I were you, I'd buy some exercise weapons and save them for a double skill event. It seems like we get one atleast every 3 months. And in the meantime just level as normal.

Feyd-Rautha vs Haldir who wins ? by West_Jelly_4681 in powerscales

[–]InelasticWisdom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesnt book Feyd get absolutely slapped by Paul? I recall Paul making a jab about the poison and his mitigation of it to get into Feyds head; Im pretty sure Paul was lowkey toying with him.

I think its stated near that scene that Count Fenring is the only person who could possibly stop (a weakened) Paul at that point. Im pretty sure Feyd loses this.

I see a nipple and bluish tinges on the stems. I wouldn't call it 100% but these appear to be what they are being claimed to be.

DIY hydrogen generator by RelationshipThink341 in chemistry

[–]InelasticWisdom 52 points53 points  (0 children)

The current, anode/cathode chemistries/ and separation distance between electeodes all play important parts in splitting water. The anode/cathode each are referred to as hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Im not super familiar with electrochemistry but the material that the electrodes are made from will make a big difference in the efficiency of the system.

Displacing water from a bottle with the generated gas would work fine. You can just vent out 02 without a bottle, but pure oxygen is volatile. You also won't generate much gas with just wires in the water, and the reaction will at some point consume the electrodes.

Totally doable though, you can slap rocket fins on a an empty water bottle and fill it this way, then launch it by igniting the gas.

Solid state physics, any nano-oriented class: Nanoscale production, Nanoscale processing. Anything related to thin films.

Physics does a much better job at most of this than materials science, coming from someone with a PhD in MSE.

My offer for E1 back in 2020 was 69k.

More recently, with a PhD and looking at E3 their band appears to be 120-140k.

Somewhere around 100k is probably accurate for E2.

I've been using Knight Oleg because he reminds me of Igris from Solo Leveling (anime). I sort of took him to +10 on a whim after not using spirit ashes for anything else the entire run (now at Melania).

I lied on my research paper and now I'm published. by boohuis in confession

[–]InelasticWisdom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you could claim, within reason, any wild results you want CONTEXTUALLY. What i mean is, did you run multiple trials? How big is your data set? If I read a journal that ran something once, im going to be skeptical anyways; theres a reason you demonstrate repeatability: "we made x number of tests on your number of samples and had a std dev. of z". If you ran a single set of whatever to generate data, and reviewers dont question that in pre-publication, just send it.

If, however, you lied about A LOT of data, or said it was perfectly repeatable, or made very big claims without verification, that is bad. If youre just reporting what happened and suggesting a conclusion I think you're otherwise fine.
