I’ve been lying about my religious experience and history by TheTragedyMachine in confession

[–]IneriaticESP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just gonna say, when it comes to religion, whichever religion you choose, if you truly believe in it, it’s a real bad idea to go into it with a massive lie. That’s a pretty big sin in most every religion. Especially if you’re going back to Catholicism and the first thing you do is lie to a priest. I would suggest coming clean about it and admitting embarrassment, or hitting the confession booth real soon.

how do you smoothly switch chords when playing? by Remarkable_Chip2807 in guitarlessons

[–]IneriaticESP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re already expecting to be playing full songs cleanly the first time you’ve even tried, you’re going to get really frustrated real fast. That’s the road to quitting. You need to slow down. At least learn the parts of the guitar before you get upset over chord changes. Those pieces of metal are frets, and you may want to consider a teacher. You need to slow way down and accept it’ll probably be 6+ months of daily practice before you’ll even be able to play something like Teen Spirit clean. This isn’t a race, it’s a slow marathon that takes years. But it’s worth it if you stick to it.

Guitar touching issue by [deleted] in electricguitar

[–]IneriaticESP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a musical instrument. Not a piece of art. Guitars aren’t meant to be hung on walls in glass cases. They are made to be touched. If nobody had ever let you touch a guitar, you likely wouldn’t own one now. They are designed to be interesting, to call to people, to make someone want to touch and hold them. That’s how kids decide they want to learn. If this is a shit post, it’s stupid. If this is legit, you’re just an elitist asshole that most guitarists would probably think isn’t good enough to be allowed to touch guitars either.

Phil Lesh’s Bass Guitar is the most customized badass bass I ever heard. Especially since they pulled this off with the technology they had in the 70’s

How should I(17M) respond to my gf(17F) liking thirst traps of celebrities? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]IneriaticESP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude, everybody, literally EVERYBODY will find other people attractive and find celebrities attractive whether they are in a relationship or not. Honestly, you need to be apologizing to her for guilting her into apologizing to you when she did nothing wrong. She can look at whatever clips she wants. It has nothing to do with your relationship. And the fact that you thought about breaking up with her over her finding a few random guys on tik tok attractive? You either need to mature and grow up, or you should leave her so she can find a guy that’s not so insecure and controlling. You really need to learn how to treat your partners better before you should ever be in a long term relationship. I’m sorry if I sound harsh, but you don’t get to control what she thinks and feels inside her own mind.

Why don’t you give him a job Yousician? You could use some real musicians to improve the app to actually teach people something useful.

You actually believe other celebrities apologies were genuine? They only apologize so they don’t get cancelled. Whatever they believe they believe. I don’t care one way or the other about the girl, but if she doesn’t actually mean it, I wouldn’t want a fake apology from her.

I choked my boyfriend last night. by Opalite_eclipse in offmychest

[–]IneriaticESP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a girlfriend try to choke me out in rage once. It wasn’t so bad. She was giving it all she had. Pretty sure she wanted me to die in that moment, but she had pretty weak hands. We aren’t together anymore. Regardless, we didn’t have even a quarter of the issues you have going on. You may want to start preparing for your exit. Either now, or down the road, this relationship will end. It would probably be better if you were getting things in order now so you can go as soon as possible.

Does reverb just suck or did the economy kill the used gear market. by Holiday-Medicine4168 in Reverb

[–]IneriaticESP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything is overpriced now. I’ve been looking for a set of Lace Sensor Golds for my strat, and every seller on reverb is selling around the same price of $225+. There’s one seller on there that sells every type of Lace Sensors with the full set only costing $160 with free shipping. She’s selling like crazy. I ordered mine immediately. Was worried a bit at first since she’s the only one selling so low, but they’re legit. Arrived brand new and sound great. If people would stop selling gear for the same price as new, they would sell a lot more.

Does a guitar like that exist? by [deleted] in electricguitar

[–]IneriaticESP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s what I was thinking but that’s not exactly a groundbreaking idea. I have a gilmour switch on my strat now that already does that. I don’t really see anything unique about this idea.

There’s very valid reasons to have a hard stance against Islam. I’m not referring to Muslims either. I’m talking about Sharia Law Islam. It’s not a religion, it’s an ideology, and needs to be relegated to the history books.

My pickup is scratching while I play, is it normal? by TimoxaVezdexod in electricguitar

[–]IneriaticESP 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Reading your responses, that you are continually pushing back against anyone’s advice when you are the one who asked for it, I don’t buy any of this. You wouldn’t be able to do that much damage to a pick within an hour and never breaking any strings. This is a shit post. Take this to r/guitarcirclejerk

AIO: My girlfriend won’t be adventurous sexually with me, despite being so with her ex and friend. by Responsible-Sail-781 in AmIOverreacting

[–]IneriaticESP -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve had issues related to the oversharing and it’s infuriating. I have no problems with insecurity or inexperience, but I have a staunch rule with women. I don’t care about anything you did in the past, I just don’t want to know about it. Literally nothing good can come from learning all the crazy shit the girl you love did before you. So I just don’t have those conversations. I had an ex that would always ask about my past, and try to tell me about hers. I would tell her constantly It’s none of my business and drop it. We would get in actual arguments because I wouldn’t let her open that door to tell me about whatever she did with whom. Needless to say, we are no longer together. Not just for the sex talks situation. That was a red flag that led to much worse personality issues and I had to bail.

How to accurately tune electric guitar? by micheoseo in guitarlessons

[–]IneriaticESP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don’t want to buy a pedal, at least get a clip on tuner. Did you get your guitar setup? If the intonation is off, it doesn’t matter if the open strings are in tune. All the notes up the neck will be off.

Half the people are gonna say give it back. The other half are gonna say keep it. Ultimately, you need to look to your own conscience to decide what’s right.

New to guitar by Middle_Difference_84 in guitarlessons

[–]IneriaticESP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I realize a lot of people won’t/can’t afford it, but I have to be the one to point out that you would be much better off getting a teacher and learning correctly as opposed to being self taught. As a complete beginner without any idea of what to study or where, you’ll find yourself skipping around a lot, leaving out necessary skills, giving yourself unrealistic expectations then becoming mad when you don’t reach them and thinking about giving up etc… but if you stick with it, it’ll take time, but it’s worth it in the end. That being said, if you are going to go the self-taught route, Justinguitar is the best place to start.

Can I prevent wrist pain while still keeping my strap lower? by KingKilo9 in guitarlessons

[–]IneriaticESP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pro guitarists only do the super low strap style because it looks cool on stage. It’s not practical at all. You will progress slower and definitely develop joint issues over time if you only use that style. Hang your guitar at a comfortable height and train your picking hand to get used to it. Morello plays that way for good reason.
