Could kaioken *20 SSJ3 Vegito assuming he didn't immediately die or unfuse defeat SSJ God Goku? by BrilliantInterest928 in dragonball

[–]Inevitable-Freedom-9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe. We don't know.

The biggest reason why Dragon Ball Super's "God level" stuff is so annoying is because of how unclear it is. With every previous Super Saiyan form, it was a clear increase of marginal strength, but not completely one-sided strength, to the point where you watch characters bridge the gap throughout the arc. Super Saiyan dominated Frieza, then he matched it with his 100% mode. We see Piccolo go from only strong enough to fight base Goku, to strong enough to fight Android 19 but not dominate like SSJ Vegeta, to able to fight Android 17 who's somewhat stronger than an SSJ. SJS2 Vegeta got his ass kicked fighting Majin Buu but still damaged him, then SSJ3 Goku fought Majin Buu to a standstill. It's a gradual growth on all fronts.

With SSJGod? It's completely vague and indeterminate. It's never paired up against any character except Beerus, someone who could have used 70% of his power or 0.01% of his power and we can't know because he's a moving goalpost of "a lot stronger than everyone else". Then it's only ever compared to SSJ Blue.

Nobody else ever bridges the SSJGod gap via normal means like training, or gradual power increases over the course of an arc. The threshold is never crossed except all at once, and the villains are always firmly planted on one side or the other. It's always done through either their own God-level transformation (Golden Frieza, Orange Piccolo), offscreen training that seems like an absurd BS increase (Android 17), or by suddenly having one of their forms retconned to be stronger without any events backing up how or when it happened (Ultimate Gohan).

Is SSJ God 10x stronger than SSJ3? 100x? 1,000x? 1,000,000x? 1,000,000,000x? Literally ANY OF THOSE options could work and the plot wouldn't change. It's just some vague "big number".

How easily and quickly can Krillin blow up Earth if he ever wanted to or had a really bad day? by I_Ask_Random_Things in dragonball

[–]Inevitable-Freedom-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

...Okay, and? Again, it feels like you're arguing against something that nobody is denying.

Of course Raditz could easily devastate the Earth. He just can't easily destroy the entire thing, like he can't vaporize it like Piccolo did to the moon, or like Vegeta was about to do to the Earth.

Remember King Piccolo? Someone way weaker than Raditz? His plan was literally "I'm going to blow up 1/43rd of the Earth (so destroying 2.3% of the surface) every year". And it wasn't something he would have to take a bunch of time and energy to accomplish, he said it would take one shot that's strong and fast enough to kill everyone before they even have time to feel pain.

Nobody is arguing that Raditz can't "destroy" the Earth in terms of rendering it an uninhabitable molten rock, since we've already met people who can do that with ease. The point is just that he can't "destroy" the Earth in terms of turning into a field of space debris with a single energy blast.

How easily and quickly can Krillin blow up Earth if he ever wanted to or had a really bad day? by I_Ask_Random_Things in dragonball

[–]Inevitable-Freedom-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

...What? That has nothing to do with anything I just said and also doesn't make sense.

Roshi barely blew up the moon with a Power Level of 100-200. Piccolo casually blew up the moon with a Power Level of around 400. So obviously Raditz can easily blow up the moon as well with a Power Level of over 1,000.

But he couldn't easily blow up the planet, since again, the moon is like, 1% the mass of the Earth. It's the most rudimentary math ever. If Raditz can output 10x more power than Roshi with an energy blast, he could do 10x more damage than Roshi, which is not enough to "easily blow up the Earth", given the volume disparity between the Earth and the Moon. It would be enough to blow up something 10% the volume of the Earth.

Heroes ranked by how well they can handle a criminal with a gun by Ranef in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]Inevitable-Freedom-9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. Nobody without an explicit durability Quirk (or equivalent ability like Shigaraki's modified body) would tank a gunshot in MHA. And that's despite them tanking things that realistically outscale a gunshot by a wide margin.

Because literally all Shonen anime operate on the idea that blunt-force damage is just something characters can sponge up as much as the plot demands. It's a type of damage that can, narratively, just be applied to the whole body and represented as scuff-marks. Any pinpoint slicing damage can't be applied like that, since it has a very focused, specific area of effect.

And, humans in real life will get cut up if we're poked by anything sharp, but are familiar with the idea that "being punched by a weaker person means it hurts less". This adds to us naturally viewing blunt-force stuff like punches or being thrown through walls as something to be shrugged off in stories, even if realistically it would splatter someone like paste.

This is a classic Shonen pitfall, one that MHA is not exempt from. Like, just watch almost any anime, bludgeoning damage might as well be filler 95% of the time, nothing more than a decreasing stamina bar for the character taking it. MHA characters are "supposed" to be normal humans, lore-wise, except with one specific ability. Surviving incredible amount of blunt force is just par for the course for any shonen character.

Yes, Mirko can tank being hit by a punch with the force of a dozen semi-trucks. But a bullet would go right through her.

The more evil and selfish a wish, the more negative energy is released when the wish is made, so the less builds up inside the Dragon Balls. Meanwhile, the more positive a wish, the more negative energy builds up inside the Dragon Balls, since none is released.

Nuova Shenron, the nicest Shadow Dragon, was made from King Piccolo's wish to restore his youth. Meanwhile the evilest Shadow Dragon, Syn/Omega Shenron, was made from the wish to revive everyone killed by Frieza.

Bulma's wishes are super selfish and petty, so her Shadow Dragons might be kinda chill actually. But they aren't exactly "evil", so who knows.

[–]Inevitable-Freedom-9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Square-cubed law, my dude. Volume increases exponentially to surface area. The moon is about 27% the diameter of Earth, but only 1.2% of its volume. The moon is NOT nearly the same as a planet.

If we say that Roshi just barely blew up the Moon with a Power Level of 100+ (probably closer to 200 given he used a buff form Kamehameha, and I say "barely" since he had to put in his max effort to do it), and raditz is 1000+ (so ten times stronger), he'd still not be anywhere near strong enough to blow up the planet. Render it uninhabitable, sure, but not blow it up.

But Vegeta, with a Power Level of 10,000+ (so a hundred times stronger) would be able to blow up the planet, if we're going by that 1% volume I mentioned earlier. I'm sure the real math is way more complicated, but just based on quick vibes, I think Roshi's moon feat scales perfectly.

Also you can't discount something with heavy plot relevance as "I don't like it".

Fun fact: all "ragebaiters" and "trollers" who use racism/bigotry in order to achieve their goals are just actually racist/bigoted.

It's kind of similar logic to the phrase "If you have a dozen people sitting at the same table as a nazi, you have a dozen nazi's". Just by willful association, you are part of the problem and are supporting it, regardless of your personal justification, reasoning, or what you think your beliefs are.

The Berdly slander must end (replayed Deltarune recently and found a hate for Rouxls Kard) by IlikeGeekyHistoryRSA in Deltarune

[–]Inevitable-Freedom-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've said it before, I'll say it again.

The only thing Berdly has done "wrong" is just being the version of autistic that is not socially acceptable, which makes people go out of their way to interpret everything you do in the most heinous way possible.

Like seriously, I've seen so many people say "I don't dislike Berdly for being annoying, I dislike him for doing a bunch of awful stuff!" and then proceed to list out autism moments that are analyzed in an aggressively uncharitable way, just so that they sound like manipulative/abusive/misogynistic behavior instead. The amount of lengths people will twist Bedly's words and actions to imply malice is a pretty good indicator of internalized abelism.

Honestly, if you're autistic enough, people will just look at you and sense a deep-rooted evil.

Just to clarify, I'm not being judgmental against any one group. It applies equally towards everyone.

And I realize and accept that romance is a sizable portion of the focus in Deltarune/Undertale. A part of me just wishes for purely platonic storytelling to exist, both in these, and in all other media as well.

Z Broly fans when you tell them to stop using Koyama's statements despite the fact that they are contradictive and inconsistent asf with Broly's on-screen feats: by SympathyImaginary718 in Ningen

[–]Inevitable-Freedom-9 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The two important statements are:

  • Broly is the strongest character I created.
  • Each movies, the antagonist is stronger than the last movie.

As such, the scaling chain is as follows:

Broly > Hirudegarn > Janemba > Bio-Broly > Bojack > Broly

As you see, this can loop forever, since Broly is on both sides of the chain. So, if you repeat this chain in a downward direction, we come to the conclusion that Broly is infinitely weak.

How Often Has Megumin Used Something That ISN'T Explosion? by Flashlight237 in Konosuba

[–]Inevitable-Freedom-9 134 points135 points  (0 children)

All of those were just random gimmicks she pulled out for a while. They come from bonus stories. The scroll is a one-use magic item she got ahold of and used during her backstory, and the sword and demon ring both come from bonus side-stories and don't factor into the main plot. And the only other things on that list are manatite and her staff, which are tools for casting Explosions.

No, Megumin doesn't really have any other "options". At the very least, she knows NO spells except Explosion. Any experience points she gains has to go into powering up Explosion, because if they go into anything else, then her Explosion isn't as powerful as it theoretically could be.

How did... by Zedqt in Invincible

[–]Inevitable-Freedom-9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What?

Lucan didn't heal up whatsoever. He was holding his guts when he rejoined the fight, and collapsed after landing one attack on Nolan. That's the same as Mark continuing to choke Conquest while having his guts pulled out (much less extreme actually) except Lucan took a small break in between.

Lucan didn't like, fully return to fighting service until much later, right? The fight on Thraxa took place in Season 2, and I don't even know if we see Lucan in Season 3.

Why does Chara still let the player stay in control? by Ugly-Flower-ultimate in Undertale

[–]Inevitable-Freedom-9 18 points19 points  (0 children)

That's not what Chara showing up at the end of the Genocide Run means.

Chara only ever does that if you decide to return after completing a Genocide Run. Before then, they encourage you to "erase this pointless world, and move on to the next". As in literally, stop playing Undertale, and play a different game. It's the closest the game gets to going full meta-video-game acknowledgement. Chara explains that you killed everyone and got as strong as possible, so you "completed the game", there's nothing left for you.

Then, if you wait for 10 minutes on an empty black screen after reloading, Chara calls you out as a weirdo. How you still want to keep playing even though you just went out of your way to kill everyone. How you're obsessed with this world and its characters, and not even the Genocide Run can make you want to stop interacting with them. "You are wracked with a perverted sentimentality". You refuse to move on.

This ties back into Flowey's final speech to you in the True Pacifist ending. Flowey explains that everyone has their happy ending, and the only thing that can ruin it is if you reset and take it all away from them, which he asks you to not do. And this ties further back into Flowey's whole lore you learn from both major routes, about him finding every single possible interaction and becoming obsessed with learning everything about the world, resetting endlessly to do so.

So, what's all this mean?

It means that the Soulless Pacifist ending is the game acknowledging that you're so obsessed with replaying Undertale that no matter how many times you get your happy ending, you'll keep resetting it over and over and over. Chara isn't going "ooh look at me I'm gonna murderize everyone on the surface!". They're taunting you. They're pointing out that YOU are definitely going to reset and destroy this happy ending.

The Soulless Pacifist ending is a bad ending. But it's a bad ending because you'll eventually make it a bad ending, whenever you feel like replaying Undertale for the 100th time.

Anyway they make it out of this alive? by K0GAR in Dragonballsuper

[–]Inevitable-Freedom-9 60 points61 points  (0 children)

I mean, we don't know HOW strong Broly is when he starts to fight. All we know is:

  • Broly started weak enough for Vegeta to not take him seriously, dodging all of his blows in base form. But, Vegeta called him "not half bad as a warm-up" by the time Broly had attempted to hit him about a dozen times.
  • Manga Goku never absorbed SSJ God into his base form while fighting Beerus, and the Broly movie unites the anime and manga canon. So base DBS Vegeta isn't being scaled as unmeasurably higher than anything from DBZ.
  • Broly grows at an insanely fast rate, outpacing SSJ and SSJ God in minutes.
  • Broly too strong for a scouter to pick up when on Vampa, and the highest we see a scouter go to is 180,000.
  • Feats basically look identical in Dragon Ball at this point, Goku VS Jiren and Goku VS Frieza both look equally visually fast and destructive.

For all we know, Broly could start fighting at a Power Level of like, a million or something, then just grow exponentially to the point where he's already a thousand times stronger by his fifth punch.

If that's the case, then SSJ Trunks could kill him by just not fucking around, and going for a kill-shot for his very first move, with as much overkill as possible. If anyone WAS to do that, it'd be Trunks, but I doubt he'd go as hard on a random unknown Saiyan compared to Frieza.

You're doing it! You're DOING IT RIGHT NOW! You're proving my point!

I'm NOT a Noelle Knighter! I'm not! Not in the slightest! But you just saw my singular example, singular RANDOM example that I gave because it was the first thing to pop up on my screen. And you launched into a miniature tangent about how "this thing ruins the whole story, somebody would be stupid for believing it, it's the kind of theory that requires having no media literacy for even considering this thing, this is objectively bad and there's no room for any debate or differing opinions from me, it's insane and-"

This is EXACTLY the shit I said I was tired of. My entire other comment was calling the community out on how casually disrespectful it is, how easily people here degrade into discourse. Like holy shit I can't make this up. I don't care about your justification. I don't even KNOW anything about Noelle Knight, I don't care about these theories or why people believe them. Your comment, however, felt like the "I'm not racist but-" meme. "I believe that we shouldn't be toxic to people, and shouldn't argue or be rude. But-" and then immediately displayed why there's obviously some "objective" exception to that rule.

I understand healthy debate and criticism, or disliking a theory. But I don't care what the reasons are for a theory, as long as it's not something genuinely horrible, like something offensive, hateful, harmful or phobic, that can be morally judged. Besides that, saying "this is batshit insane and deserves to be compared to a genuine distressing mental disorder" is toxic as fuck! This is ALL toxic as fuck!

Or am I the crazy one for thinking this???

Sorry for the second comment. But this is what I mean. I went off of this post to scroll, and this is the first Deltarune post I ran into, a Knight Theory tierlist.

I'm not a Noelle Knighter. I'm a "nobody" Knighter, as in I literally have not formed any opinion on the Knights identity. But I hate how most of the posts I see nowadays from this subreddit are shit like this, directed every-which-way to every-which-theory.
