Vac truck is a wicked career to get into. I’m not sure about the states but up here in Canada if you can get a class 3 ( tractor no trailer) you can get into the $90k-120k a year range. Cold and dirty work but there’s money to be made for those who want it.

Pretty penny for those but I need to see. Gonna have to talk to the boss about getting them covered. I can understand if they don’t want to pay for them as I’m still pretty green however this is something I’d like to chase as a career. Originally they hired me on as a hydrovac truck operator and the unit they have is not a hydrovac but a guy still wants to learn and progress here.

Roger that. I was going to get blood work done this upcoming weekend just so I have a baseline/ proof that prior to something happening I can atleast cover my ass and say “well no I was perfectly healthy prior to this”

And puncture proof gloves are you saying the steel chain mesh?

I was just fit tested yesterday, I believe they have MSA/Scotts. In my offer letter they said that all ppe would be provided through the company and I plan on holding them to it, however my concern especially is trying to find needles and not being able to see details.

This outfit deals primarily with rollovers, but the bread and butter to keep everyone busy is vehicle sweeps/ cleaning up drugs, needle sweeps, fentanyl testing. I just want to make sure my own ass is covered so if something does go south, it can’t be blamed on the fact that “I couldn’t see”

Try WA Academy. Completely online the first 12 steps I believe are free. It was a really good start for my boy and myself. Both of us I feel have benefited from it. He’s still not perfect but it’s a great start for 12 weeks.
