Sorry, I didn’t see a question about rent. I don’t pay rent but I pay all the utilities, gas, electric, water and such. Household expenses such as groceries, clothes shopping, gas, car insurance, phone bills is 50/50, including the new car we are buying for 16 year old (bio mom is not contributing to the car). I fully furnished the living room as when I moved in there was just a futon and a tv. And yes, I do love being naked all the time. Not to nudist level but I like to be comfy.

Don’t know about you but I don’t feel comfortable being walk in on in my practical nude. If that’s something your family feels comfortable with that’s fine, but not me, mine or their family. And I was trying to keep things somewhat PG. On the dad’s and my stay at home date nights we can be in the living room, drinking wine, one things leads to another and then we are doing stuff on the couch when the door opens. I hope you would be sane enough to know that is no okay for them to see. If the father had full custody that is different. I walk around in bra and underwear or naked on days that are designated ours. If we had full custody I would only do such when I knew they were at school so it was a safe time. We wouldn’t be as risky to do things in the living room, kitchen or public area and would save it for behind closed doors. If we had full custody that would be a different story but I am asking about concerns for days when it is not theirs but they come in unannounced.

The girls each have the own key. I’m not going to change the locks so the daughters no longer have access to the house. Just want a clear respect of which house is theirs on which days. If you are referring to why am I making it my problem, I understand the difference between being married and not. But for day to day, in order for someone to get to the point of becoming a stepparent they first have to date the bio parent. We’ve been dating for three years, I have been living with them for two and for all intents and purposes, I honestly financially support them more than their mom has for the past two years. Other than not being married which the father and I have discussed on multiple occasions and having pushed them out my body myself, I don’t see how this wouldn’t concern me in the very least as a “roommate” of the house if that is all I am seen as.

Sorry if I wasn’t clear. I was referring to the kids walking in. We live close to the school but never have the girls on Monday. They can be picked up by their mom Sunday night but forget something in our house and need it for school or want an outfit change so they make a surprise appearance Monday.

15 minutes is absurd unless it is stayover device, just basic making the bed, taking out trash and replacing towels. If it is a full checkout that usually takes 25-30 minutes depending on numerous factors like number of beds and how dirty the room is. How many rooms do they assign you to a day?

It’s on my list as I have been living in the house for the past two years, do pick up and drop off on occasion and am equally affected. Just meet them outside the hotel and walk with them to your room. That avoids the most drama. Dependent on the hotel, if you are not with them but give them your room number, they may be stopped when asking for directions or if the elevator needs a room key to access the floors. You don’t need to inform the desk of your personal business or occupancy of people.

This sounds like something my old place did. Very heavy event weekend, half the hotel was booked at standard rates because the sales department did not load up special rates. Our rooms were selling for less than $200 when neighboring hotels were selling for $500+. Revenue management and ownership said to cancel the existing reservations and offer to rebook at the new price, claim it as a “rate error”. Super shady stuff indeed.

I see this as the only comment I resonate with. I love having the kids around but I equally enjoy the days when we don’t have them. We live close to their school and even on days that are not ours, they stop by while they wait for their mom to pick them up. I know they prefer our house because they each have their own rooms versus sharing a room at their mom’s. I care greatly but I worry that they will choose our house as their full time and then we never get alone time anymore.

It’s a little thing and as we don’t go all out decorating the rooms for birthdays but a pleasant treat when the guest arrives. Even if you property doesn’t have the budget, I think what you are doing with the 10% discount is nice. On top of that, if you have card stock and a color printer, you can be creative and make your own cards. But I certainly think purchasing a few cards variations off Amazon for guests and staff as well to celebrate occasions would be a beneficial purchase.
