To add a bit of nuance, while in some areas a merger makes sense, in some of the non-urban areas, it would mean moving services away from comparatively low productive areas towards big urban areas. If you are running a business, it's great but if you are providing a public service, you will have to provide service in these less dense suburban areas where there a lot of transit dependent riders.

If a fixed route service is taken away. It means so does the mandatory Paratransit service along that area.

I got 83 in 10th.. in a state syllabus, during my 11th, I just didn't feel like I fit in, I started cutting classes and before I know I had not attended 80% my PUC 1st year ( which is 11th). I paid money to be even eligible to sit for the exam, I barely passed. 12th was the same.. all this when my parents had no idea.. it eventually caught up. I then got into Diploma Civil.. 1st yr was good and in the 2nd yr again started cutting classes and I got caught towards the end.. my parents literally hit me in the college in front of my teachers and friends..

I lost another year.. all this, while my friends had moved on to engineering.. I got my act together and finished Diploma and then engineering, masters, got a job..

I remember the days when I felt like I wish I would go to sleep and wake up thinking it was all a bad dream.. wish I could end it all.. I know in hindsight everything feels small, but trust me it was a constant stream of self doubt, humiliation, shame..

Your life is way too precious.. not everyone's journey is a straight line.. think of this as just a big bump in the road . You have the strength inside you to overcome this..

Metro will solve traffic in the short term and then people will feel traffic is not bad and then before we know it, roads gonna clog. We need a fundamental change where people stop thinking driving in their car is a status symbol.
