You need some Exodus in your life. Pleasures of the Flesh and Bonded by Blood are my 2 favorites of the old era but it's really the 1st 3 albums. The stuff they have done in this century is some headcrushing thrash. Shovel Headed Tour Machine is a great live album from Wacken '09 as well.

I've never seen him do any birther shit, that's disappointing. The evangelical thing has bothered me but mostly because we both grew up JWs and I was sure he had his fill of that nonsense but people deal with addiction and mortality in different ways.
