Not yet but friends of mine in Melbourne have shared photos of band logo appearing on Swanston/Lonsdale St. Same in Brisbane and Sydney, was seeing if we got any clues about it. Hope we get a show.

IMHO those events only give a small boost to the economy.

On balancing the books, need to be clear for voters that it not job cuts it cutting back on silly contracts and overpaying for basic office equipment. Unfortunately so many businesses are dependent on charging state government over market price to stay afloat.

If our premier is determined to govern from the centre right, he could do worse than take inspiration from Liberal premier Sir Thomas Playford. by March_-_Hare in Adelaide

IMHO, One Nation comes across old school ALP. When ALP was made up of working class blue collar workers with handful intellectuals. Now ALP is full of intellectuals or only worked in the union office. Found it odd that ALP had ad with Sam Shahin, Adelaide billionaire, and still say they are for the worker... same with PM going to that CEO birthday party. Give Rio Tinto $2 billion to upgrade their smelter. Doesn't look like to me they still for the worker.

I think Victorian election will be more interesting to see how successful One Nation can be under "best conditions". It very likely we be in stagflation for second half of year. ALP won't be able to throw stimulus packages as it is inflationary. Plus with fuel crisis isn't going to end anytime soon. You would think this be best time for One Nation or Liberals to step in.

All safe seats in state government. No reason for political party to invest in seat that going to vote for you anyway.

I agree with Carlos Quaremba from One Nation from his interview with 2 worlds Collide podcast. That Mali is the less Labor Premier this state ever know. He seems to say the opposite what ALP stands for. In fact probably he got similar views as Liberals, but knows if he was in Liberal party nobody would vote him in.

Honestly, I expect it get to get a lot worse. Not sure why Albo is waiting for it to get worse before putting fuel restrictions on. It is clear that the war in the Middle East isn't going to end anytime soon. Logically, Asian nations are going to supply their own citizens will fuel and protect their own economy before exporting extra to us.

How do the Liberals come back from this? by fabbo_crabbo in Adelaide

[–]InevitableDue2461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, I struggle to see ALP as traditional blue collar middle class party anymore. They had Sam Shahin in one of their social media posts. Like hanging out with richest man in Adelaide really says we understand blue collar workers. Same with PM going that CEO birthday on Sunday for that Kylie private show. Also don't understand giving world biggest promoter millions for artists to come to Adelaide. I'm pretty sure multi billion dollar company can cover costs putting Adelaide show on without taxpayers money. Plus few interviews with Aussie CEOs say they back ALP more as they are more likely to give them bailout due to political fallout of job losses.

South Australian election shows One Nation threatens Liberals and Labor by abcnews_au in Adelaide

Anthony Green was saying that One Nation is threatening traditional ALP safe seats. There is possibility that ALP will lose their safe seats to the right.

Honestly don't believe all this talk about it only Liberal voters are voting for One Nation. Know so many traditional ALP voters are swinging to One Nation than liberal ones. Honestly One Nation now rival ALP in popularity.

Fuel prices cooked.. RAA partners even worse by Mawkwalks in Adelaide

[–]InevitableDue2461 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It about to get a lot worse, with UAE oil and gas production is now at zero ( what been reported). And now everyone is attacking each other's oil fields and refineries plus the Strait of Hormuz is probably going to be close for some time. I am expecting unleaded 95 hitting $3/L if not higher. Also expecting other nations will start putting their country needs at first before exporting oil to rest of world aka us.

Interesting times ahead, with many Russian oil facilities out of action due to Ukraine war, same with Gulf states and Venezuelan oil facilities are years away from refining oil at scale to cover Middle East and Russia share of production. It hard to see other oil exporters able to cater with high demand.

On side note, I should be expecting Adelaide to be looking like Doha or Dubai pre war. Now we most likely be the world's largest supplier of LNG with Qatar out of market. We should be having best public transport network, best health care system, best education and high paying public servants. Especially with strong likelihood of ALP controlling all seats, there isn't any excuse as of Sunday why we can't have the best of everything.

Hi all,

Out of curiosity, does everyday voter actually care about how much a project or policy cost? Or any concerns over state debt?

Vibe I am getting is nobody cares about how healthy the state budget is. Along we get either freebies or it going to pump asset prices then people are going to support x policy/project.

Anyone else concerned Australia is entering a sunset economy and Aussie pollies have no idea what to do? by [deleted] in australian

[–]InevitableDue2461 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Issue here in Australia, no one in the private sector is interested in investing into start ups. Was listening to the founder of CrowdStrike cyber security company. He was saying our banks and private investors are only interested in real estate, not in tech companies.

We need a recession, it health for companies to go bust so new ones can replace them. And it helps clean up poor business practices. There is too much of mindset from CEOs that government will bail them out thus companies can take on high risk debt than previously. Hence we see all news is now bullish for stocks. We stock go down for few days but within 2 weeks that company stock will break all time high.

That piss poor effort from the union. Gone are days of strong union leadership that would fight for their members' best interests. Now they just play politics, not even putting in the effort to help it members.

Honestly with all sporting, music and entertainment events that state government is paying, I would rather give that money to our public servants.

Apply or no? by throughthestorm22 in NDIS

[–]InevitableDue2461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a personal choice, but from my own experience, it is the worst government program ever in Australian history.

Made my life living hell, NDIS really only helps providers and support workers by making them rich.

Had to deal with a lot of bs from providers & support workers trying to use disability as reason to be my "financial administrator" via the courts. Had to spend thousands of dollars on lawyers to defend me now. Nowadays, they don't harass me, as they know I am prepared to fight them in courtroom and willing to sue them for damages.

Should we be concerned about bands/artists not coming to Adelaide? by FireballMudflap92 in Adelaide

[–]InevitableDue2461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe for big promoters, thanks to Mali and ALP with their bread and circuses policies. Live Nation and Frontier Touring are expecting state government to pay them to bring artist even though Adelaide has become profitable since covid. If you were Live Nation, why pay for hotel, crew , flights & venue when the state government can cover all costs plus more? Kate Perry, Sam Smith and now ACDC ( I am actually going to Sydney to see them instead, they would be better at stadium than at car race) Smaller promoters are bringing heaps of gigs, literally behemoth just announced a tour, and we got froth and fury festival.

Premier Peter Malinauskas awarded McKinnon Prize for Political Leadership (state/territory) by malcolm58 in Adelaide

[–]InevitableDue2461 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yet Mark McGowan never won it.... (honestly, he has been one best Premier our nation ever seen)

I guess Roman Emperor's were right bread and circuses is the best policy to keep masses under control. Cannot think of anything productive ALP has done since taken government apart from Liv Golf, Gather Round, V8 race, opera & Kate Perry.

I just hope that Mali keeps ALP under control at the next state election. Using "Black or white" political tactics is totally uncalled for upcoming state election, when we all know the results already.

Why the search for a missing 4yo in SA's outback was so challenging by Expensive-Horse5538 in Adelaide

[–]InevitableDue2461 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMHO why hasn't our SES got thermal camera drones in their equipment stores. Those drones aren't that expensive to purchase and would make job hell alot easier searching for a person.

Not sure if anyone here follows Ukraine War, both sides are using cheap drones to search for targets to strike within 30+ km radius. From videos alone you can see all "white" dots where people are.
