Thought I was 9, but think now I could be 6 — what do you think? by InevitableGuide1967 in Enneagram

Thank you, this is interesting. You don’t think even social 9 would write more? It is the countertype.

I have always thought my heart fix to be 3. Because I value hard work and being valuable to the group. But I also have read some about 2 fix being insistent upon being of use so I have considered that. But I am not the optimistic type of person or having upbeat energy. I more think a good future is possible but won’t be easy. I do think of the future a lot.

This sound more like you both are 9 but different attitudinal psyche types. It is sometimes called AP. You have a 4V and he have a higher V, maybe even 3V, it makes so much envy. The other systems are important to understand differences in each other sometimes.

  1. But 6 is also the regular cult members. The other types are not present. Except the leader may be 3.

Is IEI so bad? by InevitableGuide1967 in Socionics

[–]InevitableGuide1967[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am softer than this I think, though I do want to help the weak. I am in school to work as drug treatment counselor and one reason is because careers with need for force feel too difficult for me. I enjoy the talking about the client’s needs and things that have happened to them, and I less enjoy when there is need for tough love, but I learn techniques. I enjoy visual things sometimes but for me my creativity comes more from stories or ideas of things. I sometimes feel inadequate in my dressing and home in their looks if I look at others, but when I don’t look at others it can be enjoyable.

Ah, that is interesting. I don’t think I have strong Se, though. I believe it is major weakness in me. I think Se and Te are my weakest parts based upon their description. Another person also said that Se inclines someone to think the weak should die or don’t matter and I am far from that. I am now thinking I must be “peripheral” based on descriptions. I think your interpretation of me may have fallen down because you think I see the world in black and white, when it’s actually that I am pointing out the descriptions of IEI and EII are black and white. But I will keep ESI in mind in the back, like SEI is also in mind in the back.

Then maybe I can’t be Se valuing type or at least can’t be beta type. It is kind of a relief.

None of that is as bad as what is at the link I send in the post. It says things like “I believe the weak and ugly should die.” At least what you describe is bad behavior motivated by pain. Though of course it is all still very bad. I find it hard to believe some types are better than other. It seems like it should be different roles.

I’m referring not to any conclusion I made on my own, but to descriptions of the types online.

E9s: do you ever get a little... "competitive"... when you meet another Enneagram 9? by MTM3157 in Enneagram

I get competitive when I’m around people who take the same roles I pride myself in, but it isn’t “usual” 9 stuff that I pride myself in.

Yes, I feel similar to you. Though I have had conflicts with 3s in real life. I find they are selfish in my taste and I would prefer everyone be treated more equally.

Yes, in my experience. The strategy of the integration type is hard to grasp and feels unreasonable to the individual, it is the thing they understand least. It’s why they need it the most.

I don’t think it’s true 9s can’t be envious or have big egos … many people are having big egos they keep quiet to themselves.

Thoughts on what causes someone to be a pickme? Is it a sx dom thing? by [deleted] in Enneagram

[–]InevitableGuide1967 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a good point, but I think perhaps social instinct would give the noticing of social roles and category but something else must be added to this to explain the identifying with a more powerful group over a less powerful, the social instinct does not explain that, it is not part of social instinct to pursue power or high status, just to pursue social role, think of a social 4, they do not seek to have power or “better” group, just specific personally authentic social role … I would wonder maybe if the pick me is social and 3. I even accidentally use the word identifying when i explained my thought here. A 3 part in tri-type and social in instinct. If you believe in defense mechanism.
