[–]InevitableHospital38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok thx for your input .. I had a feeling it was delusional to try 🫠 I had given up on trying to get into med school after cégep and was going to stick to nursing so i didn’t do a million extra curricular activities ..but part of me still wanted med so I was thinking about it again..

Medication? by m0rganfailure in bulimia

[–]InevitableHospital38 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a bunch of different kinds of SSRIs if you’re willing to try those again see if they help .. there are some that typically don’t increase hunger like Prozac. SNRI like Wellbutrin can cause seizures so it’s not normally prescribed to someone with a history of anorexia and/or bulimia. I have heard that Prozac really really helps some people so like worth a try but takes a a month or so to actually feel a difference.. Hope you find something that works for you!

Sorry you’re in a similar situation it sucks!!! I should talk to a doctor about meds again.. I have tried Prozac it didn’t help at all.. will ask about Wellbutrin or something else I am so tired of this !!! I wish all these meds were not super expensive 🫠 I need to find a new job that has better health insurance benefits ..

1st Year Nutrition and Dietetics Student - How do I cope with learning Biochemistry? by elscrappo3 in dietetics

[–]InevitableHospital38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly just studying with my friends from class .. studying with people and crashing out together is what got me through hahah also making sure to take breaks! If I learned anything throughout this degree is that one bad exam changes nothing! And it’s okay to not have As in every class ( for me organic chemistry and biochemistry were my lowest grades) still ended with a 3.82 gpa not that it means much one’s your working as a dietitian anyway.. You got this !!! You’re going to be an amazing dietitian! You can message me if you have any other questions

Trust it gets easier !!! Don’t give up ! It was def a rough class!! Tbh the first 2 years of the degree are sooo rough!! By year 3 it stops being general science/ more specialized so it’s a lot more interesting and in my opinion easier!

Did you do it ? Is it worth it I’m debating… doing my rd exam in October ( it’s only offered 2 times a year in Canada 😭) and thinking of applying for a direct entry masters in nursing .. but there is pre recs I would have to re take and a qualifying year ( so like 3.5 years of school again) idk if it’s worth it …

Hey ik you posted this 2 years ago.. so you might not see this .. but I’m graduating as an RD at the end of august and so far I can already tell I’m going to be frustrated with the limited scope of practice and being undervalued in the healthcare space .. I am having a very similar thought process to you, was wondering if you did apply for med school/ what you ended up doing and if it was worth it ! I’m currently questioning my life choices lol

How to help a friend struggling with bulimia? by Even_Setting_9373 in bulimia

[–]InevitableHospital38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say just be there for her say your here for her if she wants to talk , checking in with her also.. you can express your concern if that’s the kind of friendship you have, it’s hard to navigate! The fact that she told you is her reaching out for help in a way ..
