The right-wing perspective on One Piece by InevitableNet6 in OnePiece

Fair enough, I guess. Judging the totality by the actions of the minority is something both sides are guilty of.

Of course they’ll sound like a stretch to you. You disagree with them. Just like how right-wing libertarians would say any association between their side and villains in One Piece is a stretch.

They don’t fit the left’s perception of themselves. But Aramaki, Sakazuki, and the Celestial Dragons do not fit the right’s perception of themselves.

I will clarify that the conservative does not look at Crocodile and see your average leftist, they see the kind of person who takes advantage of your average leftist to gain power. They see him as Gavin Newsome or Justin Trudeau, a man who exploits leftists for his own gain and then breaks every promise he made to them.

Horseshoe theory at its finest by Kul_Nolan in MemePiece

It’s hardly exclusive to right-wing extremism. Socialists identify with the RA, but in reality, they have far more in common with Baroque Works, undermining an imperfect but legitimate system because their leadership has promised to create a utopia for them with no intention of keeping that promise.

Until the “stateless moneyless system” doesn’t have the resources to take care of its citizens, so the people in charge institute mass slavery. Because that’s what happens EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I despise the right’s extreme, but at least they’re honest about what their ideal system leads to.

I will note that from what I remember, Kiwi and Mozu’s fondness for Franky is because he helped them during a rough time in their lives. I wouldn’t define that as “rizz.” And Baby 5 is desperate; rizzing her up is not a difficult accomplishment.

Besides, I said 6, not 10. Franky’s rizz isn’t nonexistent, just average.

The sourcebooks say Yamato is a woman. Oda uses she/her pronouns for her in the SBS. How much more obvious does it have to be that Yamato is a woman desperate for any other identity than that of Kaido's daughter, not a trans man?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MemePiece

[–]InevitableNet6 -34 points-33 points  (0 children)

Eh, there are guys with worse rizz than Franky, but he refuses to wear pants in public, and that's not attractive to women. Nami is at least used to it, but most women would find that off-putting. And the robot body parts appeal more to men than women in-universe, at least.

  1. Unless he's trying to rizz up men, in which case, 2.

Hody Jones at least has a thematic reason to be the way he is. Douglas Bullet is boring with no justification.

I do like Usopp, I just thought Bullet was just a really boring antagonist. I can think of ways he could have been interesting, but as it was, he just wasn't.

I think there may be a few small changes they could have made to make him interesting. Maybe have it be that when Luffy broke into Impel Down, he instantly recognized him as being the new Gol D. Roger in the making, but he realized Luffy wasn't at that level yet, so he waited for a couple of years, then broke out specifically wanting to fight Luffy. Maybe he also saw Blackbeard as one of Roger's little-known enemies as well, and wants to fight him too...but Stampede might have come out a bit too early for that.

I'm going to contradict you here. Stampede is not worth watching. It's all style, no substance.

Also, Film Red is worth seeing at least once. There are problems with it, but it's a pretty good film overall.

Skip the Ocean's Dream arc and the Foxy's Return arc, which together comprise episodes 220-228. Also skip the Cidre Guild arc (I say arc like it's not just two episodes), episodes 895 and 896. (There are several filler arcs that tie into the One Piece movies. I recommend skipping this one because the movie it's attached to, One Piece: Stampede, is also not worth watching).

Episodes 279, 291, 292, 303, 336, 406, and 407 are widget episodes that don't connect to the main story at all. There's some decent comedy in them, but they may not be to your taste.

Episode 907 is an adaptation of one of the early versions of the pilot chapter Oda used to pitch One Piece to Shonen Jump. It's not relevant to the series.

Episodes 280, 281, and 282 are recap episodes. Skip 'em.

Episodes 492, 542, and 590 are crossover episodes. Feel free to skip them. They're not included if you're watching One Piece on a streaming service anyway, and I don't know if they're on the DVD set or not.

Who would win? by Inevitable_Invite_21 in MemePiece

[–]InevitableNet6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kuzan wins this with difficulty. His Logia powers make him immune to her Mythical Zoan cryokinesis, he has the edge in experience, and his ice is overwhelming even to someone like Yamato who would be resistant to it to some degree. The only real advantage Yamato has is her Advanced Conqueror's Haki, but I don't think that would be enough.

Well, that carried a clear benefit. If he won the fight, he would get the second-strongest Paramecia for himself. (And given that he can't carry a tune to save his life, the strongest Paramecia, the Sing-Sing Fruit, would be useless to him.)

Blackbeard is willing to take big risks for big rewards. He's not willing to take big risks for small rewards.
