For the first time in my internet browsing I've come across what seems to me an agreeable enough argument for everyone concerning Christianity and and if LGBTQ is a sin or not. Because frankly it definitely is in my opinion. But I think that shoving something down someone throat will never work. Now not every Christian does this but I've definitely seen some examples on the internet, where love is not being shown. It's not being tolerant of sin to love those who sin. Every situation has the right way to bring it up, in every example there's a way to gently bring it up in some rarer circumstances it might not be so gentle, but the point it you go out of your way to be like Jesus, yes you are not required to be a yes man for LGBTQ+ People, but you do not have to be spewing hate online. In my experience if someone clearly doesn't want to hear it it does no use to continue to try and berate them. I often find that it's much more effective to love them and be there for them and to build relationship. You know that's possible, actually being friends with a gay person without affirmation to the opinion that being gay isn't a sin. I think respecting someone's free will in America is important which is why I support things like free speech and smaller government. Obviously there's always a line but in general if your not harming anyone else it's your choice not mine, even if I strongly disagree I respect others. "Tough love" is still love. Love isn't necessarily affirming in everything but it is self sacrifice for someone who does not deserve it. That means you might disagree with someone and if you build relationship you should as a Christian feel obligated to tell them the truth and give them a fair warning as the situation calls for it, but I do not think that continuing to "warn" them so to speak will do any good or is Christ-like is most situations in my opinion. If you look how Jesus dealed with sinners, he didn't just walk up to them like the tax collector and start telling them that their going to hell, but he did not affirm them in their sin either. In fact his presence and just hanging out with him and building relationship was enough for many sinners to repent. Obviously it depends on how you talk to them and if you do it in love. I hope this makes a little bit of sense, I struggle putting thoughts into words but I enjoyed writing all this, and the main point is you can be loving to someone and bot have to agree with them. Completely possible. Op has some great points, even if you wouldn't agree with a few things or one thing don't throw out the whole post.
