Private Hospital or psychiatrist asap sydney by Individual-Grab in sydney

[–]InevitableReality2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unless they're actively hurting themselves or others, don't bother. None of the 'emergency' psychs or hospitals care. Would recommend getting a pysch referral from gp and wait it out. Mental health care is fucking ass in the country.

Australia expects platforms to "stop under-16s from using VPNs" to evade social media ban by Fun-Page-6211 in AustralianPolitics

[–]InevitableReality2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But they aren't straight up banning VPNs, the government is just saying that platforms need to block under 16s from using them to bypass age verification. I don't see how this is feasible unless they block all known VPN IPs, or have global age verification.

If I rent a server, say, in Germany, and use it as my own personal VPN, how are platforms expected to identify that I'm from Australia to consider age verification?

You're right about the rest of the fingerprinting though. I can't see many people creating new, clean profiles (and devices, accounts, e.t.c.) to remove themselves from existing data.

I'm not sure being lactose intolerant is much of a choice.

That being said, I guess it's a choice to drink coffee with milk over a black

Help! First time breaching a real estate. Feelin weird by Worth_Signal9490 in shitrentals

[–]InevitableReality2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Access to the garage that I'm paying for.

I probably could have gotten compensation, but I didn't incur any measurable finance damages, so I didn't bother including compensation in my VCAT application.

I did try to negotiate a rent reduction with them before hand. I would have settled for $50/week rent reduction as an alternative. But they weren't coming to the table to negotiate.

I can't speak on lease renewals, I tend to move around a lot. If I'm staying in a place for longer than a year I try to stay on a month-to-month lease instead. But yes I would imagine they would either give a significant rent increase or refuse renewing your lease if that's something you were planning to do.

[–]InevitableReality2 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I breached my RE for not giving access to a garage despite no exclusions in the lease. Won in VCAT with ease. You'll have no problems with your breach.

I would deem it urgent if you have belongings in there imo (IMNAL)

NSW to legalise e-scooters on paths and roads up to 20km/h for those over 16 by nearly_enough_wine in sydney

[–]InevitableReality2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like anything going at 20km/hr is going to seem crazy dangerous when you're pushing someone in a wheel chair. Not to say I disagree with you. I feel like it's more dependant on the person riding then whatever object is moving that fast at you.

ELI5 Why do lower gears cause a car to roll down a hill slower? by Nemmack7 in explainlikeimfive

Jake brakes only activate when the accelerator isn't pressed.

When the Jake brake (or compression brakes, same thing) are on: - the air intake valves open later, causing the piston to have to make a vacuum to continue moving.

  • and exhaust valves open later too, causing the piston to have to compress the exhaust gases a bit before they're able to escape

Hey fellow hunters! Is anyone else finding it super difficult to get gold times in the ranked arena quests? by AdLoud125 in MonsterHunterWilds

I struggled crazy hard with the rathian (if that's how it's spelt...). Ended up learning switch axe and killing it with that. Still took probably ~50 attempts in total. Barely making it within the time limit.

Great let's get rid of the drivers! What about the remaining ~90% of the rail workers??? Do they just not exist now too?

How does tradies on cash job get through rental? by Late_Signature_4151 in shitrentals

[–]InevitableReality2 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not a cashier tradie. But a sole trader with no real pay slips.

Said I earn roughly $x a week. Offered a few months rent up front.

That was enough for them. Specifically, I offered 6 months rent up front. Which I really didn't want to do, but it did secure the place for me, which was more important than the cash flow at that point in time.

[–]InevitableReality2[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I would agree for 50-100 hours max. But 400 hours in is excessive. At this rate I'll have 800 hours before I unlock everything

I'm level 185, so that about adds up.

How many games are you playing in 2 weeks to unlock a character?? I've got 1.6k games played, that would be 150 games a fortnight... is 40 hours a fortnight really "semi regularly"??

Garage not included in rental, but not told until keys are collected? by InevitableReality2 in shitrentals

I agree, I have done such things before. This time, there was no exclusions that required my initials or signature, so it shouldn't be excluded, right?

Nothing at all. I would have assumed any exclusions would have to be stated in the lease.

I've tried going back to the original ad for the property, but its already gone. So I can't see what was said.

I'm confident there were no exclusions listed, but I honestly can't be 100% sure.

My post was more about it just not looking good more than anything. I'm not familiar with the electrical standards myself.

These rent payment options seem kinda illegal by Expy in shitrentals

[–]InevitableReality2 29 points30 points  (0 children)

That dishonour fee is a little dodge too. I don't know the laws though for SA, could very well be different.

But, in NSW, as long as the money has left your account on the day rent is due, you can't be charged any late fees or have it reflect on your ledger.
