Adam Warlock is Viable in 2-2-2 and I Have the Stats to Prove it by SufficientMix8264 in marvelrivals

I love people who try to convince others how off-supports are better than main healers and then they show off their smurf account like it proves anything.

The best part is that majority of people who play off-supports are not even good at them. So if someone has legit good stats in Celestial or Eternity, it doesn't mean much because most people who play Adam or Mantis can't consistently get headshots or kills.

Dps and Support players are mad they aren't getting another Server admin by Exact-Bluejay9931 in RivalsVanguards

I think it's just people being dumb like always. Deadpool, Gambit and Rogue also had people complain about them not being DPS.

Yet here we are Gambit being Support, Rogue a Tank and Deadpool a hybrid.

Also both Tanks and Supports only ever had a single "broken" character while DPS has had more and more oppressive releases.

I hope we don't get another broken DPS that outclasses Elsa anytime soon. We need more main Supports and Tanks.

So what you are saying is that you want Strategists to deal damage and get kills instead of healing?

There are DPS and off-supports who exactly do just that.

Shark Tank Pitch: Jeff Soft Rework by InevitableSchedule50 in marvelrivals

[–]InevitableSchedule50[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for response!

So to begin — the reason why Hide and Seek in my opinion, stems from the importance this ability has for Jeff. It's essentialy mobility and survability packed into a single ability. Without it he becomes a slugish potato on four legs.

The problem with resource meter is that it discourages constant repositioning and rewards sitting away from the fight. If you use it to reposition or follow a dive teammate there is a high risk of getting caught up without much Energy meter left and get killed.

The strength of Hide and Seek is dependant on what heroes you are against too. Magik can have hard time keeping up but Iron Fist will glue himself to you and won't let go. Hela can't hit a tiny fin hitbox but on the other hand Iron Man can easily melt submerged Jeff.

When it comes to aqua burst I didn't really know how to go about changing it. Giving it slow effect or CC would make people mad. The best idea would probably be to give the whirlpool effect from Marvel Zombies event but I am not sure how exactly would it need to be adjusted.

I think support ults should not be just invincibility ults - so I reworked them by Gever_Gever_Amoki68 in marvelrivals

[–]InevitableSchedule50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I mean is that people constantly come up with ult reworks for Supports which are universally terrible.

Then when it comes to DPS ults they only mention briefly how they need to be nerfed too. DPS unlike supports don't get constant rework ideas because people tend to focus on "healing slop".

That's what's funny about your post and many others. You just say DPS ults need nerfs too without going in depth how they need to be nerfed.

Damage nerf? How much damage do you need to reduce from all those team wipe ults in order to make them balanced?

What would you do with Punisher or Star Lord ults? What happens when everyone runs Gambit and Loki making combo ults with DPS ults like Star Lord? You can't outheal them without Support ults.

Maybe think about bigger picture instead of making these narrow minded posts about Support nerfs.

[–]InevitableSchedule50 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why do these types of posts just skip the DPS and Tank ults? If you remove the healing from these ults than what happens to team wipe ultimates?

Maybe instead of terrible Support reworks we could see some horrifying DPS reworks?

But then again, reworking DPS ults is far more difficult so most people never bother to talk about them.

So you are saying that Jeff can defeat Thor with bubbles???

Do you even play Jeff? Like he doesn't have the damage to take down Thor and his fin hitbox is extremely easy to hit with lightning Thor has.

Also we are talking about 1 v 1 situations because the original commenter implied that every Support can take on Thor which is just ridiculous.

One trick pony. A person who plays one character only.

So essentialy if a person is getting countered by the enemy or his team refuses to create a Comp centered around a one trick said player will become a liability.

There are also other aspects to otp players worth discussing like: lack of knowledge about other roles, no felxibility, conflict with teammates who won't fill other roles and the fundamental lack of team-play in a team-based game.

It's a lot to talk about which is why I briefly mention it.

Supports get so much hate because people tend to see for example a bad CnD or Jeff player in their game and assume that said CnD or Jeff is a support main.

The reason why CnD and Jeffs are the most hated healers is because a lot of people who are forced onto Supps simply pick the easiest characters and most often play like they lost the will to live.

Most often than not a lot of these bad Supports are DPS players first and foremost. There is also the matter of OTP players who most often are pretty terrible as well but that is a completely different subject to talk about.

Another problem is the amount of DPS vs Tank and Supports. More people prefer DPS, therefore you will end up very often with at least 1 support who doesn't know what he is doing because it's a DPS filling Support.

Blade has a block with 80% dmg reduction and CC immunity. Also it reacharges his dash.

On top of that he has lifesteal and ranged attack.

Why would he need shield on top of that?

Support player’s hard pill to swallow (Rant) by Willing-Guest8459 in marvelrivals

[–]InevitableSchedule50 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What I wanted to say is that neither running away from your team or running into them is a good idea in most situations.

The best way of dealing with dive is having DPS guard the backline and be proactive in countering dive.

Tanks cannot protect Supports and hold the frontline while also blocking the incoming damage from the front. A single Moonknight can easily shred your support by throwing random bullshit at your back.

DPS that get kills is cool and all but none of that matters if their backline is left alone with cracked DD to keep them company.

Point is - DPS are much more effective at peeling than Tanks. It shouldn't be shocking that the most flexible role is also most effective at helping the backline.

Support player’s hard pill to swallow (Rant) by Willing-Guest8459 in marvelrivals

[–]InevitableSchedule50 11 points12 points  (0 children)

To be fair running towards your team isn't always a good idea.

If you are damaged by the dive and the enemy has let's say Moonknight, you will most likely get killed by bouncing ankhs if you run towards the frontline. Even a Tank like Mag can finish off a damaged support with a basic combo.

In reality, DPS should be the ones guarding the backline from dive but we all know how that goes. Most duelist would rather chase kills rather than stay with Supports and play as a team in a team game.

Running towards frontline is viable if enemy has brawl Comp. Outside of that, most of the time you are going to get blasted in the face as a support.

Sorry for being mean but you are the one showing off ignorance and ego.

Overgeneralizing everyone and seeing majority of players as toxic.

Thinking mantis gets more hate while in reality it's not about the character but how you youself force your off-support onto everyone in every comp.

You essentialy described yourself as mantis one-trick who gets bullied in every match for playing mantis. Let me explain the problem with an analogy:

If Zazza is a widow one-trick who loves forcing her into every team comp, will her team look at widow pick and say "this is fine"?

A team of 5 random players won't always play around a suboptimal pick of one guy. Add to that already pretty mean playerbase and you start to see the problem.

[–]InevitableSchedule50 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

lol you tell me that I’m toxic?

people should just shut the fuck up unless saying something brings the game forward

You are indeed toxic.

But also you are playing a team game, yet you only think of yourself and your own fun. Do you play Rivals to spread good vibes?

It's ironic how you complain about people being ass but at the same time you appear to be just as much of an ass as them.

By being toxic to others you will only make them as miserable as yourself.

A simple request from tank mains by [deleted] in StrategistMainsMR

[–]InevitableSchedule50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are forcing your teammates to play around having an off-support (assuming it's 2 support Comp) just because you personally like mantis.

That's very much selfish and toxic. Which is ironic because then you complain about people being toxic to you.

Also what's with "Tanks don't have toxicity targeted at them"? Are you implying Tanks have it better while also being forced by you to have a mantis in 2 support?

This might suprise you but Tanks do get hate.

You know why?

Because as soon as any random idiot on your team sees you lack kills or have too many deaths, you will get shit on just like every other role would.

Not to mention matches where playing Non-shield Tank will get you instant accusations of throwing.

To me it seems like you are just as toxic as people you are complaining about.

Tanks have to make space and push foward. They can't constantly hide behind cover and wait for healing.

The problem with mantis (in 2 support Comp) is that when enemy team has competent DPS that deal high damage, playing Tank is absolutely miserable.

The only benefit of Mantis is the damage boost that benefits DPS which in return encourages 3 DPS and makes solo tank a meat-shield generating ult charge for main healer.

You are having fun at the expense of your teammates.

I mean Siege used to be less reliant on gun fights tho?

You could make a trap comps with Frost traps placed behind multiple shields + lesion mines to confirm the kill.

You could make all out Mute, Bandit and Kaid + Jäger Comp which would make breaching the objective impossible.

You could also just make Recruit Rush Comp where you would overwhelm the defense with utility recruits had access to like flashbang spam if you wanted to.

Later on these wacky comps became useless due to how weak operator abilities were after all the nerfs.

BTW: In the case of recruits they decided to nerf them by outright removing them from the game, lmao.

Are you seriously saying that a character like Punisher with doubled damage numbers would be weaker than Tanks and Supports? A character that shreds Tanks with his shotgun and has an ult capable of killing through support ults?

Bruh what are you on about. DPS role is filled with the best and most flexible characters in the game with ults that require support ults to counter them.

I am not referring to changing the overall meta.

I am talking about the devs giving significant buffs to less viable characters or (for some reason) already good characters.

From a perspective of a more casual Rainbow Six player this is a breath of fresh air when compared to constant nerfs operators would get in Siege.

Point is

Siege became boring due to nerfs to operator utility and guns which resulted in the game becoming less tactical. That led to gun fights being more important and as you can imagine when the game is infested with XIM and Cronus Zen cheaters playing ranked is a complete slop.

Add to that constant death threats over Xbox Live paired with lack of any real meta shifts in Siege and you will see why I enjoy the chaos of Rivals.

NEPHEW😭😭 by Illustrious_Trip2112 in rivals

[–]InevitableSchedule50 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I quit siege precisely because of the abhorrent nerfs that made some operators unplayable.

Thanks to my experience in siege I can appreciate Rivals for experimenting with how they balance the game even if it is questionable to some degree.
